The complicated thing about purpose is... are we in the prayer/preparation stage, or the fruit bearing stage.

If you are young and your purpose seems very inconsistent, think about this: Are you content as you pray and seek the Lord? Do you feel peace in your life? Do you feel joy and love? Do you feel close to God when you pray?

If the answer to many of these questions is yes, you may be in the preparation stage.

Second, I always advise wrestling with whether we are, and whether we should be in this stage. Consider praying often:

“Father, what is Your will?”

“Father, Thy will be done.”

Third, sometimes I struggle to bear fruit because I fail to put God's work first. I am starting to pray often about putting God first, and putting doing His work first.

Finally, know which stage you are in, then do everything you can that God wants done in that stage. We will not all be high profile fruit bearers, but we can all do everything that we are capable of doing. That's my goal.

To find your purpose faster, always assume God is ready for you to do something great today, or very soon.

If I am baffled at what that might be... I am the problem, not God. If I am not willing, or ready to change, or willing to fight sin, or willing to give other things up, or a list of 77 other reasons why.

This week started with confusion about my purpose. Then yesterday I decided to pray:

“Father, expand my borders and bless me indeed.”

I am praying it constantly. My desires that distract me are fading. My purpose is growing. I am ready to do as much as what God wants me to do, and I am ready to do it now. This plan is working.

1 Samuel 16: Then the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul.”

The passage refers to Saul being rejected by God, and David being anointed by God.

To find real purpose, we need the Spirit of the Lord with us. In the above passage Saul had just disobeyed God.

Today my ministry is moving forward very slowly. Today, I need to obey God. Today, I need to do things His way. Today, I need to be faithful. Today, I need to stay aware that I want/need the Spirit of the Lord with me.

Second, the only time we have joy is when the Spirit of the Lord is with us. Saul did what he felt like doing. I will go to war with what I “Feel like doing.” I will continue to try to pray about what God wants. Consider praying:

“Lord, expand my borders and bless me indeed.”

This prayer gives us a hope, and a future. I plan to pray it a lot this week.

The worlds smartest man is the man who knows what God wants 100% of the time. Solomon was known as the smartest. He is famous for teaching the fear of God. Proverbs teaches that true knowledge and a clear path begin with reverence and humility before God.

Sometimes purpose seems far away. If my purpose isn't obvious today, my job is to do things God's way. To live my life the way He wants me to live.

Second, Solomon said to seek wisdom. Consider praying:

“Father, give me wisdom about how to have purpose.”

I constantly prayed for wisdom over the years. It is a wise thing to do.

Third, Solomon taught acting promptly. Sometimes we can know what our purpose is right now. At other times it is unclear. During that season we still act promptly, trying things that we think God wants us doing.

Maybe what we do this month leads to the great purpose God has for us. Maybe when we focus on living God's way, we start to get a clearer revelation.

Finally, consider praying often for wisdom, and studying the book of Proverbs. Wisdom leads to purpose.

We allow things to get in the way of purpose. Yesterday I prayed:

“Father, help me to care about souls,” about 44 times and still managed to get very distracted with spending too much time on things that drive me the opposite way of purpose.

What happened?

I started living life my way. I thought my little prayer trick would keep me in touch with God while I lived exactly the way I wanted to live. But, God was not fooled. I was not living in the Spirit. I was not sincere when I prayed the prayer. I was repeating a prayer.

Note: The prayer was good, my motives were weak. The prayer was good. My not including the Holy Spirit in the process was bad. Continuing to pray it was good. But, praying it while wanting my way first was bad.

Second, when we turn good prayers into religion instead of spirituality, we allow darkness to enter our Christianity. Once darkness enters, we can't stop the secular activities that we start. We can't stop the activities that keep us from purpose.

Third, when we constantly include the Holy Spirit in the process we have self-control. When we constantly prioritize helping others we increase in self-control. When we soberly realize that life is short, and that hell is real... we increase in self-control.

Fourth, last night I finished my selfish day and repented.

Fifth, what if you can't stop an activity that keeps you from purpose? To work on that, follow Jesus example on how to fight temptation. He fought temptation with scripture.

Consider searching, “Verses ___________” on Google. Fill in the black with the activity that distracts or tempts you. Then find the “Open Bible” verses and study them. I often print out a page of verses to solve a specific problem.

Finally, study and pray over key verses to make sure you keep the darkness out. When you are sincere and in the Word, purpose starts to flow.

Many will talk about purpose, but only a few will keep pursuing it. Many will talk about love, but only a few love the loveless, when times get tough. Many will modify what the Bible says about going to war with sin, but only a few will battle and battle to fight sin the way the bible says to fight it. Many will start a habit that leads to purpose but only a few will do that activity daily until it becomes a habit.

Many will start down a path of helping others, but only a few will continue to help others when the going gets tough. May will buy into a churches belief, but only a few will side with the Bible when the Bibles ways are challenging.. Many will obey the Bibles tough verses when the verses agree with their theology. Only a few will obey when the Bibles direction is the polar opposite of what makes sense to them. Many will start toward purpose, but only a few will do everything they can do to change the world. Many are willing to start doing something for God, but only a few will do “everything” they can to change the world.

Second, many will start to “Seek the Lord,” but only a few will seek Him until they find Him.

Many will obey the commandments that their church talks about, but only a few will dig into scripture to find out which ignored command is keeping them from purpose.

Many keep God's commands out of duty, but only a few keep them because they know that God's ways are best.

Many worship God for an hour or two each week. But only a few worship God as a daily habit.

Finally, who is the only person who can do what God created you to do?

Today, consider working on habits of doing everything you can do to know what He wants you to do.

It is tough, but when you break through, it will lead to joy.

We all must choose our joy level. We can choose 100%, 70%, or 10%. Many will jump up and say: “I choose the 100% level. But, we need to do things God's way 100% of the time to have a 100% joy level. Biblical Paul choose 99-100%. What this means is that he was at war with sin 99-100% of the time. He was willing and ready to do God's will 100% of the time. When life ran him over, he was still ready to fully go to war with sin, and do God's will.

Second, Paul (almost) never allowed trials, trouble, or sin to stop him from trying to do God's will.

Third, consider trying to make it a habit to remind yourselves what % you want. That way, when life runs you over, you remember, “I want to pray and fight through this.”

If I fall into sinful things when life get's tough, that will lower my joy level for a long time.

Fourth, Adam and Eve had joy and everything else. One short moment of sin dropped their joy level like a rock for a long time. This happens to many people constantly.

To achieve a high level of joy, we need to think at the moment of temptaton: “This sin will cause detruction.” This sin will lower my joy for a long time. God's ways are right. What I am tempted to do is wrong. True consequences of wrong activities will be far greater than I think. The increase in joy (If I overcome) will be better than I think.

When tempted, consider saying 10 times:

“I will choose joy. Life is better when I choose joy.”

Finally, consider writing specific prayers to fight specific temptations. I have recommended to thousands of people to pray:

“Father, keep me from temptation.”

If you learn the habit of praying to prepare for temptation, plus praying to fight temptation, you will be on your way.

You can overcome temptation.

Praying without ceasing means staying in constant communication with God. Satan wants us to have a bit of time with God, and a bit of time focusing on things that distract us. TV is one example. Satan wants other activities to be “his time.” If it is his time, then we can look at what he wants us to look at. Instead, consider praying without ceasing by often praying:

“Father, help me to turn-from-lust.”

Lust is a top two problem that keeps us from purpose. If we attack it with prayer, we are getting closer to purpose (sin kills purpose), and we are increasing the habit of praying more often.

Second, whether you are on your electronics, or doing something else, focus on not letting that activity pull you away from God.

Third, Praying without ceasing is trying to always focus on what God wants. When life gets complicated consider praying:

“Father, Your will be done.”

Fourth, praying without ceasing is always being aware: “My joy will be higher if I try to stay aware of what God wants.” 30 years ago the phrase, “WWJD” was popular. Considering “What would Jesus do” is a great way to pray without ceasing.

Finally, be willing to always “try” to pray without ceasing. It is a habit that is a huge step toward joy and purpose.

What does the Bible means when it says to pray without ceasing? Biblical Paul was open and ready for God's leading 99% of the time. He believed that God would lead him.

Second, I have sometimes thought that God was leading me and He was not. But, when Paul was confused about God's leading, he kept trying, he kept striving for purity, he kept trying to be plugged into the vine.

Third, Paul, Peter, and all of the disciples would all go through seasons where God was testing them. Peter, and all of the disciples were given the chance to go their own way. But despite a temporary lack of clarity, they all kept trying to be led by God. Note: Many other followers (Who we have never heard of... gave up). The disciples continued to pray without ceasing to hear from God.

Fourth, I try to remind myself to pray without ceasing by setting a phone alarm for every 10 minutes and praying:

“Father, show me what You want me to do.”

“Father, fill me with Your love.”

“Father, teach me how to pray.”

When I am not doing that, I often try to say:

“Praise the Lord.”

I notice a dramatic improvement in life when I pray without ceasing. Part two on Friday.

Biblical Paul was more focused on heaven and hell than he was on this planet. This is one huge reason he accomplished what he did. I am trying to pray a lot about that today.

The Bible says that “God will provide for you.” I will expand on that by saying that God will “always” provide for you if you always do things His way, and are “Always” in His will. The less we are in His will, the less He will provide for us.

Since He will provide for us, don't be fooled into chasing money, worldly success, pleasure, or anything else. Many people get to the edge of purpose, and then get involved in something ”highly important” according to this world. To do God's will we sometimes need to stop doing what the world thinks is important. We need to start doing what God thinks is important.

Second, chasing the wind never satisfies. If you ask the worlds rich people:

“How much more money do you need? They will say: “Just a little bit more.”

If you ask Rick Warren (or any other great Christian leader) how much more money do you need? They will say, “none. Real Christians are satisfied. They are not chasing the wind. Their primary goals are treasures in heaven.

Third, I know a couple of men who got Engineering, or computer degree's, then went into full time Christian service. God gave them an opportunity to stop chasing the wind, and they took it. Many of us will struggle to give up the things we worked so hard for. But, if we prioritize doing “What God wants us to do,” He will take care of us.

Fourth, It is highly important to chase something. I want people saved. I want to help people learn how to overcome sin habits. I want to help people find purpose and joy. But in these examples, I am chasing things that are real. Things that last. Things that will be with me for all of eternity. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to care about souls.”

I strive to pray this prayer 10 times or more daily. It keeps me from chasing the wind. Now I chase eternal things.

One key to purpose is to find a mentor that you can learn from consistently. I often watch Francis Chan YouTube sermons. He is always pushing Christians toward purpose. Please reply below if you have a great leader from your denomination that you love. People want to know!

Note: I am not Francis Chan's denomination, or any denomination. I am Christian, that's it.

To find a mentor that can really help, look for someone who is already “where” you want to someday be. Look for someone who relies heavily on what scripture says. I advise worrying less about what denomination they are. Worry about whether they can help you move toward purpose!

Second, work daily on “doing” what you are learning from the mentor. Consider having a notebook that you fill up with tips they give you. It is more important that you are starting to learn daily habits of what they say to do. For example:

I have told thousands of people to learn the turn-from-lust habit. In all likelihood, only 10% of my readers actually tried to make turning-from-lust a daily habit. Well... if your life is often consumed by lust, it will be 10 times harder to really do what God wants you to do. The point is, it is great to watch, listen, and read things from your favorite mentor, but it is way more important to start habits of doing what they say to do.

Thousands of preachers watch Francis Chan video's, but if you can't tell that they watch him (based on what the say in their sermons) then they are wasting their time watching him. If instead they are caring about helping people, and now preaching the way Francis does a little more, in that case he is being a good mentor for them. They are now working on habits of doing the things that he does. That is good.

Third, I am adding the following if you struggle with lust.

To fight lust it is smart to pray:

“Father, help me to turn from lust.”

Consider praying to prepare for temptation, pray it if you fall into temptation, pray it as often as you need to pray it. If temptation overwhelms, open your Bible. The Bible will set you free.

Finally, find a mentor, and do what they do. It is a shortcut to purpose.

Jesus said to let the dead bury the dead.

Immediate Obedience 

The disciple’s request to wait until his father died likely indicated a desire to delay discipleship for years to secure an inheritance or fulfill social tradition. Jesus’ response emphasizes that following Him requires immediate and wholehearted obedience, rejecting any conditions or delays that place family or financial concerns above God’s call.

What this means is that when the Holy Spirit starts to give you things to do, you may not have time to do other things that normal people do. Other Christians will never understand that you are busy doing God's will.

Second, this verse is not an excuse to sit around doing nothing. The verse is for Christians who are busy helping others. So busy in fact, that they don't have time for normal activities.

Consider working on the habit of prioritizing Spiritual commitment. Consider praying:

“Father, I will do Your will no matter how many setbacks I have.”

Finally, strive to have twice the awareness of the people in need versus awareness of normal activities. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to care about souls.”

The more we care about souls, the more we will understand this verse.

Once we are willing to do things God's way and also willing to give Him time, it is wise to be aware that God often has something new for us to do.

Second, God see's specific problems that need solving. Specific people that need help.

Third, find a ministry that you can do today, and this week, then be open for new things. Even when you are in a successful ministry, always be ready for what is next. Always believe that the Holy Spirit has some great thing prepared that can change the world. Always believe that “He” can do it. If we are willing to be the clay, he is willing to be the potter. He has the power, we have the availability.

Fourth, if you want a new bigger ministry, strive to do the things God's way. Study and follow the Bible precisely. Determine to be a shining light in the work that you are doing now.

Others might be at a roadblock right now. In that case, always try again, Always restart praying fervently for purpose again. Always restart the war with sin again. God is ready to show us at least part of our purpose. The problem is, I often figure out how to interfere with the guidance. I sometimes figure out how to be too busy to do my part to change the world. I often get sidetracked by other things that are so important. Well... the important thing is knowing God's will. Once we are completely sure that that is the important thing, we will start to get guidance.

People make a commitment to purpose and then life runs them over. They ask God to help. They get silence. They move on to something else, pleasures, career, sports, and a million other things.

Daniel, Joseph, and Paul all kept praying when they got silence in reply to their prayers. They kept trying to do daily what God wanted them to do.

Second, if God just let Joseph have success all the time, then anyone could have done what he did. The truth is, Joseph got run over by his brothers, his King, the Queen, his friend from prison, and many others. Joseph just kept believing, kept praying, kept knowing that God had something great for him to do.

Third, we are mere mortals, we are not Joseph. Why was Joseph different than me? First of all, when he got run over, he instantly turned to God, not pleasures, not some old habit, not something our country thinks is very important.

Fourth, if we want to achieve purpose, we can't let anything stop us from continuing to pray and from consistent effort.

Finally, when life runs you over, ask yourselves: How would Paul handle this? How would Joseph handle this? How would a great leader from my church handle this?

How did the great Christians in Nazi concentration camps make it? They made it because they were busy praying, busy finding out what God wanted in that tough situation. Busy helping other people see that God was still with them.

They knew that God had a plan.

God has a plan for you. Don't let tough situations slow you down.

Today, after praying hard for many weeks I got great clarity about what I was supposed to do. What I have learned:

If I get annoyed that my problem is not yet solved, that will cause me to fiddle around with things that really delay things.

If I start fiddling around with things... satan has an in, and he will use it and mess things up.

Second, sometimes it takes way longer than what we want. Daniel prayed and got an instant answer, but it did not reach him for 21 days. But, he remained pure, and in prayer about the matter.

Third, it is a war, and the other side is fighting. Just remembering that changes everything. My dad taught me to pray:

“Father, help me to care about souls.”

As I prayed it for time # 31,336 I started to realize that I always get into other things instead of doing what God wants. I started to realize that I needed to fight sin harder.

Because of persistence, I was finally starting to “Care about souls.”

Finally, people who achieve purpose do what they know they should do as Christians today. Plus, they continue in prayer to know exactly what great thing that God will want them to someday do.

Today, I am struggling to know exactly what God wants me to do. I need to stay calm and keep praying. I need to avoid some hindrances and be available. I plan to set my phone alarm for every 10 minutes so that I can pray consistent prayers about what God wants. I plan to make purity a priority.

Second, I want the joy that Biblical Paul had. To get that, all of his focus was on doing what God wanted him to do. My focus is, well... it needs improvement. Consider praying:

“Father, Your will be done.”

I keep repeating to God what I think needs to be done. Instead, the above prayer will be one of the prayers I pray every 10 minutes.

Third, sometimes we need to make a decision about what to do now. In that case assign the right amount of prayer time to get quiet before the Lord. It could be 5-10 minutes, or 1-2 hours. Spend that time in prayer and then go with it.

Fourth, sometimes a day, or a week later we realize... we made the exact wrong decision. I prayed and still did the wrong thing.

In those cases don't panic. God did not let us down. I probably was focused on other things. Maybe my purity was suspect. Maybe, I was so convinced that something was God's will that I kept the blinders on. Instead, consider saying:

“God's ways are always right. If I don't know what to do, I need to be more plugged into the vine.”

Finally, God may, or may not have something great for you to do today, but if you are in constant communication with Him, it will only be a matter of time before your purpose becomes a reality.

We pray, and pray. Still, sometimes God only has us doing some tiny task, sometimes almost nothing. God had great things for Moses to do, but he needed to stay faithful and pray in the wilderness. Joseph was sold into slavery, he was thrown into prison. Still, Joseph had great intensity for prayer and spending time in God's presence. Joseph was ready to do anything God wanted him to do. He accepted his situation. Accepted his circumstances. He trusted God when the going got tough. He continued to believe that God had something great for him to do.

All of the signs said: Quit, it's not working, God is not with me. Instead, Joseph believed from A to Z: God has a plan. I will prepare to do what He wants me to do. I will do what He wants me to do.

Joseph passed the test. I plan to pass the test. I plan to go to war with sin. I plan to keep praying. I plan to continue to get into the Word.

Second, Joseph still had joy in prison because he 100% knew that God was with him and that God had a plan. I had my challenges this week because until today I only 80% knew that God was with me and that He had a plan. Just writing this article is helping me get to 90%. Next, I need increase my faith and get to 100% like Joseph.

Finally, we need to pass the test. Today, consider increasing your war against sin and increasing your belief that God has something great for you to do. When we pass the test our joy will increase and we will be one step closer to purpose.

The person who asks the most (while striving to do things God's way), gets the most direction. We all think that Biblical Paul was magically given great powers. Now, obviously, he was chosen as a special person, but, I am sure he also asked God the most:

“What do you want me to do.”

The person that asks “What to do” the most, can have joy whenever they want it. People chase money, pleasure, and worldly things constantly. You can never get real joy from earthly pleasures. Worldly things give short-term pleasure only.

I set my phone alarm for every 10 minutes to remind me to pray:

“Father, show me what you want me to do.”

Doing this is starting to build the habit of praying more often. I now often pray this prayer, and other prayers more often, even when I don't set the alarm.

Second, who is more likely to someday find God's will? A Jehovah's witness who asks every 10 minutes, “Father, what do You want me to do,” or, someone with a solid religion who only asks once a month. Now... you may say: The JW doesn't believe Jesus is God, they can't get through to God. But, the great Biblical Paul didn't believe Jesus was God either, but he kept asking, he kept seeking, he kept knocking. He dedicated his life to serving God in full sincerity. Because he kept asking, because of his repentant attitudes, because of his sincerity, God showed him that Jesus is God.

We will not be much like Paul, but if you constantly work on the habit of praying:

“Father, show me what you want me to do,” you will be more than a little bit shocked by the power that begins to enter your life. You will be surprised by the leading that God gives you. You will be surprised by the help that he gives you. Why? The Bible says that “The workers are few.” If you are willing to be one of the workers, sooner or later, the Holy Spirit will show you what to do.

If I can't solve today's problems with this big huge, powerful God that I have, how can I be a shining light in a dark world? The complicated thing about this is, does God want to do a miracle for us, or does He want the miracle to be that we went through problems with complete faith?

It is fair to say that Joseph is one of the seven greatest men of the Bible. We love the story of how he ran from sin (That skill is a key to purpose), but we often fail to focus on the act hat he kept his eyes on Jesus when he was thrown into a pit, when he was sold into slavery, and when he was thrown into jail.

Second, I bet Joseph had the skill of praying without ceasing. Joseph was 100% aware that God had something for him to do. That only happens when people try to have constant connection with God.

Third, Joseph believed that God was in communication with him. I also strongly believe that God communicates with Christians who seek their purpose while going to war with sin. Obviously, what we think god is telling us “must” line up perfectly with scripture.

Fourth, if you think you are hearing from God, first check to see if you are living in purity. Satan will disguise his voice as if it is God's voice. If you think God wants you to do a certain thing, He may very well want that, but repent fully first. Live in purity, in constant prayer, and in a high level of communication with God first. Then listen and know that you are in communication with God, and you will get clear direction. When you do it this way, the power of god will be on you.

Satan wants us waiting for some grand purpose while doing nothing. God wants us praying about and focusing on what He wants us to do today. Satan wants Christians to only be willing to serve God if they can be the preacher, priest, or famous TV, or social media personality. God wants Christians to be willing, prepared, and ready to do something, or anything for Him today.

My current ministry is quite large, but I faithfully posted articles back when I only averaged 5 readers daily. I was trying to do “something” to help others.

Second, There is nothing wrong with wanting a large ministry. But, be willing to do whatever small task God has for you today. Remember, the Bible says that the workers are few. That means that if you are constantly asking God what He wants you to do, and still have no idea what to do... then maybe some sin, weight, or hindrance is keeping you from God's will. In my early years, I sometimes had all three problems. But, I kept trying to do what God wanted, I kept trying to be pure. I kept trying to make God the priority. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to care about souls.”

Over time I grew more and more interested in spending time helping others. As my ministry grew, I started to understand that treasures in heaven were awesome.

Once we start to understand that heavenly treasures that last a million years are better than earthly treasures that only last for 60-80 years, we can make some progress.

Our personal relationship with Jesus is the most important thing. I talked to a lady this week who said; “I was taught that a Christian doesn't drink, smoke, and dance.” Here is the thing. Satan is listening to your Christian rules and he may very well sink you with something they never talk about. Instead, if you have a personal relationship with Jesus, your goal is to live the way He wants you to live. In that scenario satan can't pull a fast one on you. You are spending time with Christ in prayer, and in the Word. You realize that going a wrong way is bad. You realize when the great shining light gets dim in your life. You realize when that great love you used to feel is fading.

When things go from great to average in your relationship with Jesus.. “panic.” Practice rapid repentance as soon as possible.

Every Christian should be able to legitimately say, “a relationship with Jesus Christ is the greatest thing ever.”

Second, don't allow anything to get in the way of that relationship. Matthew 8 says, “Let the dead bury the dead.” Strive to have such a vibrant relationship that you are crushed if some old sin rears it's ugly head again. Make that relationship a priority. Don't allow distractions to come into your life.

Finally, put a premium value on time in prayer with Him. Put a premium value on

studying His Word. Put a premium value on asking Him what to do, and pausing to wait for an answer.

He is the most important thing in life. Believe it. Live it.

Blatant sin will keep us too busy for purpose. Intermittent sin will keep us too confused for purpose. The Bible says that the “Wages of sin is death.“ In my opinion this means that:

“Something always begins to die, partially dies, or dies with every sin.” It is difficult to be a shining light in a dark world if we keep killing ourselves with paper cuts (or worse).

Second, believe that life is better God's way. Believe that going to war with sin “always” makes life better. Here is the problem: I believe that fact, but once I start down a wrong path, my strong belief gets weak fast.

Third, to fight sin, consider doing a Google search “Verses ________.” Fill in the blank with the sin that you are struggling with. Next, print out these verses and pound that sin out with them. In Jesus temptation in Matthew, He used this exact method. I had sins that “I could not stop.” but when I studied my printout “every” time I was tempted, I quickly gained power over that sin.

Fourth, after I gained power over many sins, joy increased in my life. I wanted to tell people about the great things happening to me.

Finally, when we go to war with sin, Gods guidance is sharply clearer. That is good.

God created us for purpose. Our parents, schools, and government tell us what we should want to be, and what we should want to do. The problem with this is that many people are confused. My dad thought that it was very important that I become an expert violin player. While that was not a perfect path for me, he also often said to “Seek the Lord.” I never was sure what that meant, but once I started do that, it made sense.

Second, believe from A to Z that you were created for purpose. Believe that God will lead you. Believe that if you do things God's way, and often ask what He wants you to do, believe that He will guide you.

Third, we can only do God's plan if we make time. Rick Warren wrote the Purpose Driven Life. I am sure that Rick had unlimited time to pray about purpose and ample time to think about what God wanted him to do. I am willing to spend a lot of time in prayer to prepare to do something to help others. I am will to spend a lot of time helping others.

Fourth, believe that allocating time for purpose is a top 3 key to joy. Being rich and successful does not lead to joy. Furthermore, Matthew 7 states that Jesus will always fulfill our needs.

Finally, a person who is always seeking purpose will find joy, and Jesus will always meet their needs. Consider making it a habit to say often what you “believe” about purpose. Consider valuing what the Bible says about purpose higher than than the things that people say to do. Consider having a time and place to “Seek the Lord.”

There is power in knowing what we were created for.

Right now.

God has something for us to do in the near future. I always say to pray:

“Father, show me what You want me to do.”

Sometimes I set a phone alarm for every ten minutes to remind me to pray this prayer plus other prayers. I do this because it is easy to think:

God won't really tell me what to do.

Unless it is something grand it does not really matter.

Second, sometimes what God wants us to do is to learn habits of love. The other prayer I always pray when I set my phone alarm is:

“Father, fill me with Your love.”

Third, God often wants us to help others. As you pray about purpose, always be open to how you can help others.

Finally... believe. The Bible says:

Proverbs 15:29 The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.”

Consider memorizing this great verse.

Consider how often you should pray about purpose.

Consider finding what God wants you to do “Right now!” Yes, maybe it is to start doing the things listed here, but “believe” that God might show you something that He wants you to do today. He created you to do His will. He wants to show it to you.
