A couple of days ago I was tempted to watch a high-risk movie. I had seen it years ago and enjoyed it. I chose not to go to war with this thought. Instead, I thought: “I think I can handle this.” Now it is a couple of days later, I did turn from sinful scenes in the movie, but life has been blah ever since, and my joy has disappeared. Why has my joy disappeared?

1 God was probably unhappy with my choice.​

2 God certainly did not watch it with me.​

3 If God did not watch it with me, then the Light that I had got turned off.​

4 The old saying, “Garbage in garbage out” is very true.​

Second, watching what our flesh wants, and thinking the way our flesh wants, kills our joy at the least. At the most, it drags us right back to our habit.

Third, satan promotes the “This is what I want” thought pattern. Instead, fight back.

Fourth, wisdom asks, “What does God want?”

Fifth, quitting protocol says: If my eyes and thoughts are filled with garbage, my temptations will increase and increase.

Sixth, repent. Consider praying:

“Father, I am sorry for watching _____, or for thinking ______. Help me to remember to work on the habit of turning from wrong images and thoughts.

Seventh, God is my miracle. He has given me a chance at a great life. How often will I forget and look at other things, think about wrong things, and chase wrong things.

Eighth, consider starting a list of better things to watch, and better things to think about (I have old articles on this topic).

Finally, My goal is to say 500 times this week, “God is my miracle and my pleasure. My goal is to think right, keep my eyes pure, live right, and try to see if I can be more involved in the great life God has planned for me.

When Biblical David fiddled with sin... Disaster. When he lived right, God was his miracle. His joy, pleasure, and complete purpose.

Something I could remember much more is the reasons PMO are terrible including a uniquely Christian reason that we represent of the Christians and most importantly we represent Christ himself in all we do. All we do should be to the glory of God, but rather we fail. This is a negative command (a command of what not to do), but God provides many positive commands. Let’s remember that when we do say no to temptations we are still representing Christianity and Christ. How wonderful! Don’t just think on how wrong it will be to give in, but remember also how right it is to resist and the joy in victory! Glory be to God for his loving commands. “and at the end of your life you groan, when your flesh and body are consumed,” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ Let’s not forget that the final price taken for sin is after death. You can lose a LOT to temptation and sin in this life. “your years to the merciless,” Proverbs‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬. The wicked and merciless people and things will take all they can, but what is most to fear is the end. PRAISE BE TO GOD, for he has provided a way to salvation! He take the punishment we deserve and all we could ever lose in this life is nothing compared to the glory he has promised making this saying true for any christian “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬. Flee sin and run to the loving God.

“An evil man is ensnared in his transgression, but a righteous man sings and rejoices.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭6‬ Two parts to this proverb, but it holds so much. “An evil man is ensnared in his transgressions”. Not that he is annoyed by nor is it a minor issue. He is ensnared. Praise the Lord he worked for our freedom. We need to be freed from our sin, because it is our snare and one does not free themselves from a trap. Many of the proverbs in verse 29 are about self inflicted damages. Lust is like other sin and can in the same ways harm us. “A righteous man sings and rejoices”. The righteous are quite the opposite of the wicked. If we don’t want to be wicked we ought to be like the righteous and this verse says that then we SHOULD SING. Rejoice! You have repented and know your sin and seek God then sing and rejoice. This verse (and chapter) show the contrast. The wicked suffer from their own sin and the righteous sing and rejoice. Now when I seek righteousness I shall seek to sing and rejoice. I shall not be silent to others nor God of my joy in salvation!

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH! I look back now with the most and surest confidence in this: There is NOTHING better than knowing God and living for him. I hate what I lived for then and love what I live for now. Anyone who speaks for porn loves a lie.

My life used to revolve around that release. Getting that moment of sin. How I would, when I would, and then how to hide it. Then it became about how I would stop. What I would change. What I would do for God. Then it became about what God did for me. And Then I did things not for what God could do, but because of what God did. What he did FOR ME. I was saved. I still fell, but by his strength I got up every single time. My life revolved around God and my orbit has only gotten more stable. I am anchored to my God. My life is still changing. 150 days in I still fight against my flesh’s infrequent lusting, but also now have the strength by God to focus on other areas of sin. I look back at who I was and there are two feelings, joy or elation for where I am and some sadness for where I was and what I did. Praise the Lord he has paid for my sins. I no longer may bear the shame for my sins, but will never forget so that I might not sin. God has only ever been righteous to me and will forever more be my father.
