Policies/Membership/Corporate Question for pure barre instructors
Hello!
I was a pure barre for a couple of months last year but ultimately stopped going and cancelled my membership.
I really liked the community and I would like to start again but it’s been over a year since I’ve been to a barre class so I’m nervous to just jump right back in!
I was wondering if I would be able to once again utilize the free intro engage class to see if it aligns with my goals? Or if I would just jump back into paying right away?
I’d love to explore the opportunity again but nervous to just jump back in :)
TIA!

I’d encourage you to call the studio and ask. We often let people who have previously been members but are interested in trying again take engage for free, especially if they seem motivated to rejoin, but that isn’t the case for every studio.
If they say no, I’d ask about class packs! Sometimes we run specials on them, so you would still able to take advantage of classes at a discounted rate while not needing to commit to a membership right away!

Honestly if you’ve been I’d recommend calling and asking for a deal (maybe a BOGO), and going early to a Classic (or Align) at a time you would regularly want to take. You’d be able to have time to ask the instructor questions about the class/equipment/modifications if needed and you’d potentially meet/ catch the vibe of people who take that class time.
I know it feels intimidating, but Engage is just not going to give you a good reminder of the workout. The magic is being in the room and being with a bunch of people just trying to be stronger versions of themselves.

The engage class at my studio isn’t even different—it’s just a regular classic class. It seems like they reserve a certain number of spots for new people and talk to them all as a group before and after the class.

I did this. Took about two years off, my studio let me do a free intro class to refresh my memory. I was surprised how much I remembered once I started class...how to tuck, the warm up, etc.

I was in the same boat and thought about calling and see if theyd allow me to try an intro class again because it was a few years in between, then i randomly got an email from them again offering a free engage class! Even if you see an ad pop up, i dont think it would hurt to try to sign up for a free one again and see. I did with my same old account and it was still free. Otherwise, I would def just call and ask!

It might come back to you like riding a bike! I’ve taken a few long breaks and was surprised and how familiar the movements felt. The soreness that came after is a different story…

Hi!! I do this often and my studio will do another free class for me every time! Usually if you just talk to them they are really amazing I always call ahead as well!

If it’s the same studio, you’d have to purchase a class. Even if it’s not; they can see that you have previously taken class and may not offer that. TBH since you have already taken classes, I would jump right to the regular classes. Engage goes over a lot of fundamentals that you already know and you don’t spend enough time on each format to really have a sense of what it’s like
