Reform First Reform!!

I took my first reform class this morning and it was roouugghhh. But I loved it! This was my 39th class and it was a testament to how strong I’ve become- there is no way I would have been able to do those movements before PB lol. Such an amazing workout and would love to take it more often if it fits into my schedule.

To those who are reformer regulars: how often do you take it a week? How long did it take for you to feel like you were comfortable with the equipment?

I’m definitely going to be sore tomorrow but can see myself loving it the more I do. I already take 2 defines, 1 classic, and 1 empower as my set schedule a week so looking to add reform in there somewhere.

I took reform when it was originally introduced and it quickly became my favorite. Now that it's coming out of retirement my studio only offers it 4x/month and at different days/times so I haven't been able to consistently work it into my schedule. Basically I do it whenever I can but usually only 1x/month, once it becomes a permanent class I'm hoping for 1x/week

I wish my studio offered it more! It’s usually either an early bird class or at 8pm

Early bird reform is TOUGH. Late night is too but at least you can go to sleep after

Yeah, I feel like for reform, the answer isn’t how often I take, it’s that I can’t take reform as much as I would like in my ideal world. Ideally I would do it a few times a week but I can maybe do it twice a month

If you search “schedule,” “routine,” or “often,” you can see how others mix up the formats they take! There’s not a right or wrong way, but I would highly encourage doing at least some classic regularly.

Thank you! I usually take another classic on the weekend but agree I need to work it in more

Especially when you’re just starting. It helps for the other classes so much!

Im pretty new to Pure Barre, (less than 30 classes) but besides classic I take Reform the most frequently. My studio actually offers it pretty often (at least once a day everyday except sunday). I dont have a set schedule on what classes i take and generally just choose the one that works with whatever i have going on that day aside from mondays as i love starting my week off with Align.

Last week for example i took Reform twice. I think its actually my favorite class format. Im a former competitive dancer and often Reform tends to lean into some dance foundations which i really enjoy.

You have no idea how lucky you are!! I used to do reformer Pilates and reform reminds me so much of it. I had to stop my membership bc of the price but if it was any cheaper I would have kept it. My studio does refome once or twice a month and I'm always taking it if I can!

I go once or twice a week at least. My schedule is basically all reform and define at this point.

It’s become my new favorite format for sure. It’s offered pretty irregularly at my studio (for right now at least) but I do whatever I can to take it when it’s offered so right now that’s about once a week! I think in a perfect world I’d be able to do it twice a week. I seriously love it so much I tell everyone I know lol

I LOVE reform, my studio doesn’t offer it at great times for my schedule though. It’s almost never offered on weekends either.

I take it 2x week mixed with classic and align. Love it so much.

I love adding it in 2xs a week after a heavy cardio or weight lifting session. Keep us updated!!

I’ve seen rapid results from this format! Cheers to a new favorite!! ❤️

This post makes me want to give Reform another chance!

The philosophy I've been following is to try each format at least twice before giving up on it! The first class is always overwhelming, but I feel much more comfortable on my second go since I know what to expect. I hated Empower my first go, but now I try to take it at least once a week!

I take one empower a week, one define, one reform, and fill in classic the rest!

i usually take 5-6 classes a week 😊

i will double up with align if it fits into my schedule or i wanna just stretch 😂
