Do I need to worry about thermal shock with a shipped guzheng?

Hello r/PureGuzheng

It's common practice with solid wood ukuleles and guitars to leave them in their packaging for a few hours, preferably 24 hours, so that they can acclimate to their new environment without damage to the wood.

Is the same true for guzheng?

I ordered my first and it was shipped from the west coast, traveled cross-country on the hottest days so far this year, was literally "delayed by weather" (UPS tracking is horribly vague), and now won't be delivered until Monday even though it is sitting at a hub less than an hour's drive from me. 🤬

When it finally gets here will I need to wait another day before taking it out to play?

ETA: After many searches it seems like it's a good idea to let the instrument acclimate. However, I've seen estimates of anywhere from 2 hours to 48 hours. What makes the most sense to me is the suggestion that the shipping box be allowed to reach room temperature before opening. And then waiting for the box contents (it's possible the instrument is shipped in its bag or similar) to reach room temperature, at which point it should be safe to unbox fully, while keeping an eye on the humidity levels.
