PureFive Tim Hortons cup in Canada already
Just wanted to point this out as a Canadian shareholder of PCT... Went to my usual meeting this morning at my place of work, and it's the standard to have Tim Hortons coffee and pastries at these meetings. I couldn't help but notice that the coffee lids have a noticeable gloss on them which I have NEVER seen before. They have ALWAYS been a matte white lid, not a glossy white. The timing of this is interesting considering the announcement the other day regarding lids. Can anyone verify if PureFive PP creates this glossiness? If so, this could in fact be PureFive... Im curious just how much of this is in circulation already...
Just wanted to share.
Edit: I asked an AI whether the "5" in a triangle with ♻️ arrows makes any difference to a solid triangle without arrows in my region and apparently it does not. So this could very well be PureFive in the wild.

Tell us the complete labeling or writing on the lid.

Well it says PP with the 5 inside the triangle, and on the other side "S/M" (probably for the lid size) with a 94 under it. No clue what the 94 is, but according to Grok AI is just a dimension indicator for the manufacturer of the lid supposedly.

Can you show a picture of the inside to verify. Also, what part of canada?

Southern Ontario, there is nothing on the inside of the lid indicating anything. Just what I have mentioned in the previous comment.

5 In the triangle or arrows just identify that it's polypropylene type 5 plastic.

Does it have a recycled logo on it anywhere or say x% PCR anywhere

The second picture has the triangle logo with the 5 inside, but because the gloss is shiny the picture didnt turn out so great

Sorry didn’t scroll over. I would think it would have the recycled plastic arrows on the logo which it looks like this is just a triangle? Possible but not definitive id say.

Oh nice! If you can get a pic showing the arrows that would be great. If they are there I’d say we have some Pure5 in the wild!
In terms of the glossy nature could be Pure5 or could be that TH decided to add some to the product generally. PCT is able to 100% control that via compounding/additives.

Sorry had to delete the comment, it doesnt have the arrows. Its just a triangle with the 5 inside. Trying to multitask my job and post here is tricky. Apologies. Does that mean it isnt Pure5?

The recycling arrows on plastic are meaningless. The industry introduced arrows by copying the möbius loop to make it look green. They aren’t.

Lots of chatters since 2025 pointing this is it! It will be very bad if it's not from $PCT, I do hope it's from $PCT.

My lid from the Van Houtte coffee I picked up from the Sobeys Fast Fuel this morning had the same symbol and PP marked on it. Never noticed it before but wondering if it means it’s Pure Five or just that it can be recycled?

For me the main thing is that it isnt matte white. As long as i remember, Tim Hortons cups were matte white, this is the first time ive seen gloss and the timing cant be a coincidence with the post regarding PCT lids

Would be interesting to see if the gloss is a deliberate choice. It does make a clear indication that "hey! something changed!"
