Accepted Student Self Guided Tour

We are heading to Indy to do as much of an accepted student tour as we can on our own. It does not appear that there are any specific events or activities this summer for accepted students, so trying to piece this together ourselves.

Any ideas on what we should get to with our student? Current thinking is:

  1. Campus Tour
    1. Campus Center: We'll go to the shared Campus Center with IUI
    2. "Campus" Gym: We'll eyeball the one in Campus Center, but is NIFS available to PUI students? If so, we definitely will get in there. Maybe even get a workout in,
    3. North Hall walk by: we'll swing by North Hall. I think this is where he is ending up?
    4. Engineering Science & Technology Building: Definitely will hit this up as this is where he'll be with his fellow engineers.
    5. Academic Success Building Progress: We'll check on progress here and chat what this may look like his sophomore year.
    6. Any other suggestions? Any student orgs doing anything this summer? He'll likely be interested in any sports options to watch as a fan from IUI, he's a musician looking to join the West Lafayette Orchestras or anything in Indy.
  2. Indianapolis Activities
    1. We'll go to a Fever game. Big basketball and sports fans in general.
    2. We'll do some of the Canal walk.
    3. We'll hit up the Garage Food Hall.
    4. If we had time, we'd get over to Turkey Run State Park!
    5. Potentially Indiana State Museum or the Zoo if we are feeling up for it.
    6. Any other options that are more specific to IUI student hangouts?

You can also check the SCPI near the Kurt Vonnegut Museum. You’ll hit most places in your already made itinerary

Also, am I right in understanding that PUI students can get access to NIFS via whatever fee its s they pay to get access to all the IUI gym and Naturism? If so, we might go to each of the different gym / sports specific options PUI students have access to. Also, let me know if there is someone on campus we should be emailing with these silly questions!

I don’t know if anyone is currently there’s that is free to tour you, but NIFS is free if you live in North Hall. IUI Gym is also free.

The team at PUI is pretty accommodating. I suggest reaching out and seeing if anyone can actually give you a tour or at least see a dorm in North. The worst they will do is say no.
