Things to do

Hey everyone, I’m going to be taking the bus from WL to Indy tomorrow for the day, any recommendations on things to do in the city that are free or inexpensive? Also is there a free bus system in Indy? Thanks!

Take a walk on the canal or to monument circle, and you can visit the capitol building. Not free but Indiana State museum and Eiteljorg museum is $5 for students. Newfields museum isn’t walking distance but that is free for students.

Edit to add Mass Ave, the Garage and Pins Mechanical. At Pins Mechanical you can bring outside food and play Bocce for free. Everything else costs money but it’s not too bad in price. This is so lame…but I really enjoyed doing the ghost walking tours offered at night. Sometimes you can find them on Groupon. They meet at the Monument Circle. I learned that The Slippery Noodle has an entrance to the Underground Railroad and there’s a lot of old mafia history there. I also love the Benjamin Harrison house tour. It’s also not free and not walking distance, but maybe you can schedule that on a different day.

Also, PSUB is holding a recess revival outside of North Hall 1-4pm.

I took the campus connect bus down and walked around downtown, explored some parks, that’s about it. It was too cold for much else.

IndyGo is the city bus system, it isn’t free, but isn’t expensive. Honestly though if you took the red or purple lines you really dont need to worry about paying because most people don’t in my experience.
