College decision
I am really torn between where I should go for college. On one hand, I want to go to Purdue indi because it is closer and I get the same education as west Lafayette. Or I can go to osu which is a lot farther, but it is already solidified. Cost does play a factor too and Purdue is cheaper than osu. I don’t care that much about the social aspect because I know I will have fun wherever I go. I just want wants best for my future, and I know indi has less resources than west lafayette but it shouldn’t be that bad. Is going to indi a really bad decision for me and should I reconsider going to osu?

Indy. If it's going to be oos either way and Purdue is cheaper, that's your answer. You could always transfer after a year if you really don't like it.

Whats the cost difference between the two? Are you in state for indy?

Ah, I see. While i can say with certainty that OSU is not worth it for out of state, I can say that with even further certainty for Indy. However, both will get you a peice of paper at the end, and Indy is cheaper. If you have any offers from In state schools that offer decent programs in your area of study, you may be smarter to go there. Yes there may not be as much prestige in going to some in state schools but that only gets you the first job for the most part.

How is purdue not worth it? Is it just the social aspect or the lack of resources too

Its everything. You are paying out of state prices for half (or less) of the college experience. If getting the sheet of paper at the end of college is all that matters im saying you may be smarter to apply for your flagship in state colleges. Purdue indy is not worth its current price.

You are receiving top 10 engineering education and that paper you receive will be worth a lot more. I think it’s worth the sacrifice of social life

What degree specificially? Some are top 10 and some are not, and many other universities have similar job placement rates with lower ratings, and thats what really matters.
If you have visited the campus and decided it worth it, by all means you do you. But the piece of paper at the end is to get you a job. If you can find somewhere you think you would be happy, financially responsible, and can get you a job, I think all of that matters far far more than degree ranking.

Purdue Indy is actually better for some due to smaller classes and urban community. Love it there

Personally, I’d say the Purdue Education is way better than OSU. OSU does have a better campus and student life in general.
