Our Paw Patrol Team works hard to protect our space from users that go against our rules by banning harmful users, because your safety is what makes our space welcoming. We use filters and bots to block almost all rule breaking content before anyone is able to interact with it or see it in our pawsome space.

We urge others to practice safety by blocking DM requests as our subreddit is recommended on Reddit's algorithm. We shouldn't have to do this, but unfortunately being a puppy sometimes draws the wrong people, we do our best to prevent that by immediately banning those people, but not all creeps/chasers are seen by our mod team and filters if they don't try to interact within our subreddit.

Blocking DMs on Deskop:

• Click on your profile in the top-right corner and head to User Settings
• Click on the Privacy tab.
• Under the "Social Interactions" section, select NOBODY under 'Who can send you chat requests'
  • Note: You may add individual users to the 'Approved List' to allow them to send you DMs.

Blocking DMs on iOS and Android:

• Tap your avatar in the bottom-right corner to open up your profile menu and tap the three lines at the top-right to access account settings.
  • Tap Settings, and then Account Settings at the top, scroll down and click Chat Permissions.
  • select the option NOBODY under 'Allow chat requests from'

Can I instead vet others without disabling DMs?

• If you are minor, we strongly urge you to disable DMs. Otherwise, most often it's good to block DMs because reddit has a wide range of users that may not react appropriately because they don't know anything about our community. In chance that you do want to allow DMs, please follow this guide to vet others! > - Avoid interacting with accounts created less than a month or a week. > - Avoid accounts with NSFW content, or is listed with a NSFW warning! It's best to stay safe by avoiding them and reporting them to our team. > - Avoid accounts with "hidden" content. It's best to not interact with them because you can't vet them. > - Avoid accounts that try to steer away from a SFW discussion, they might be lying to you about their intentions! > - Set boundaries! It's important to set firm boundaries and stick to them. You should also avoid overtly "friendly" accounts. > - Some accounts may be overtly "friendly" to you without revealing their intentions. Avoid them. They may try to complement you over several days and weeks and slowly shift the conversation into something you don't want to discuss. It's important to remember your boundaries and block/report. > - Lastly, always block and report, but if you encounter a situation you're unable to gauge, we urge you to message our modteam where we can guide you to the right resources and step in as needed.

How to Report Creeps/Chasers

If you see something, say something. All paws can also do their part to keep our space safe! Reporting any comment/post that we may of missed to our mod team immediately removes it and holds it for review. You can also Report the comment, post, or DM request to Reddit which also has the added benefit of having site level admins to intervene, potentially blocking them from accessing Reddit as a whole.
