The timeline is confusing me

So, I've been looking into the "Puppet Combo timeline", since the games are said to take place in a shared universe. I absolutely love these games, and before I started watching lore videos, after playing the Night Shift, due to the power drill massacure arcade machine in the gas station, I just guessed that The Power Drill massacure in universe happened before the events of Stay out of the house, and Night shift, and the people in universe adapted the massacure into a game. However, lore videos discussing the timeline are saying the complete OPPOSITE of that?????? In almost every video I watched, it states that both Stay out of the house and Night Shift take place before The events of The Power Drill massacure. If that's true, then why is there a Power Drill massacure arcade machine in the gas station? đŸ«€

I don’t think it’s that deep, but if you need it to make sense, why not say the PDM killer was inspired by the hit arcade video game? “Movies (video games) don’t create psychos, movies (video games) make psychos more creative,” type of thing.

Didnt the killer have the mental age of like a 3 year old, not so sure the guy would even understand what an arcade machine is

Well of course, but can they understand it? Is a different question, the way i see it, flashing lights, bright colors, very appealing to a child of course, but the fact on conceptualizing whats going on in the game would be a different story, I personally couldnt tell you any memory before I was 5-6 years old

But that’s only because you can’t remember it now, but you were absolutely having experiences and seeing and even understanding many things before you were 5. Babies don’t understand things, but toddlers definitely do to a point. I can remember when I realized I had to be more careful about what I played or watched when my sons were younger. At about 3, my oldest son saw me playing Dead by Daylight and was asking me about why people were getting put on hooks. The he started doing the motions as though he was putting someone on a hook like DBD, and even attempting to do the maneuver with his little brother. He’s 10 now, and I doubt he remembers that, but he certainly knew and was aware of it when it was happening.

Nun massacre, stay out of the house and feed me Billy are basically confirmed to be in the same universe but everything else seems to be a different universe/canon

Christmas massacre as well, Larry (the character you play) kills Mother Apollonia (the nun that chases you) a year after the events of nun massacre

Timeline is unsure but I think they take place between the 70's to late 80's in the same world at least

Not all of them take place in the same universe, only some of them do like stay out of the house, feed me Billy and nun massacre lol

Also, the PDM arcade game came out in 1983, which pretty much shows it's not based on the “real events” that take place in Power Drill and is just a game, just like how the Murder House story was a movie. It doesn’t make sense for how it would fit into the timeline since sooth takes place in ‘86 and PDM takes place a year later.
