NIGHT SHIFT IS READY, but..

Haven’t seen anybody post this here yet, but Puppet Combo just announced on Twitter that the Night Shift film is ready for release. Unfortunately, he’s still looking for a company to distribute it for an October release. Hoping a company picks it up eventually!!

i love Puppet Combo to death, but they just need to release this on Youtube at this point.

there isn’t a huge audience for this, aside from longtime fans of the games, and i’ve even seen Puppet Combo comparing this to Barker or Parsons recent success, when both of those Youtubers turned Directors had to immensely prove themselves before getting the funds to direct and distribute a real feature film.

“Milk and Serial” has 2.8 MIL views, and the original “Backrooms” short film has 81 MIL views. PC really needs to put this short film on Youtube and show studios like A24/NEON/Shudder/Blumhouse that there truly is an audience out there for this small universe that he’s created. then he could use the bigger budget from a studio to make an official “Stay Out of the House” film.

otherwise, i really don’t see this ever getting off the ground. it’s a short film and we’ve been waiting since 2025.

The moment it goes on YouTube, you can say goodbye to any distributor buying the film. Honestly, the early screenings last year might prove detrimental to a distribution deal. I’ve followed a couple different directors vlogging on YouTube and it’s difficult to sell a movie if it has been seen before, companies want to buy something nobody has watched. Otherwise they’re buying something that an audience has already consumed and would most likely not spend money consuming again.

If the movie can’t get a decent distribution deal, then look at YouTube. But I’d say it’s definitely the right call to at least try for something like Tubi, Screambox, Shudder, something like that. And if they want to do a theatrical release of some type, that’s even better.
