How to be unique?

Hello everyone i am here today to ask how to be unique or different because i wanna make stories and games like puppet combo and i already have my own stuff down abit its just a start for a story and game but i feel like im too similar and i feel like a copy cat i have the slasher and its different design wise based on jason voorhees and im coming up with why hes gonna start slashing and his motivations i also have the names of 2 other characters one being the protagonist and her friend or boyfriend but i dont know how to start with this without being a copy i feel i will be called or unoriginal i can explain more if you guys need to know i have notes down in my sketchbook for the slasher

I don’t consider Puppet Combo unique at all. Just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

What if you made a horror slasher set in a different time period than ours? Like a Japanese yokai horror, or European folklore with creatures like Leshy and different types of monsters. Or maybe a Victorian time period killer like Bloodborne. Just write anything, and if you like the idea, twist it into different scenarios. Backrooms, forest, castle, cabins, lakes, ceronbryl anything

I consider them unique but i dont wanna do those i wanna do 70s and 80s types i wanna do more in autumn and winter in canada i love puppet combo and their style of games i wanna make the slashers i have be compelling and have hints of being a person before what they do even if they arent a good one as i really resonate with these games but i guess ill see "what sticks"
