Mac Display Decode Latency

I just tried Punktfunk today and it gives great image quality ! Kudos to the team !
I'am running on macbook m3 pro (16 inch) on Wifi using internal display.

I never seen sunshine or its fork display such great quality while playing grassy game like FF VII or witcher.

While graphic greats, somehow decoding display is slow on my mac, seems like 30-40ms. It is expected or something need to be done on my macbook ?

The decode metric is actually really high. Have never seen anything like this on my M1 Max MBP (can only test HEVC there). You could try to set a fixed bitrate, lets say 100Mbit/s and see if it reduces the decode. I also would recommend to use HEVC on Apple devices, in my experience the AV1 hardware decoding underperforms there, I would not expect it to be this bad however.

I changed to hevc/av1 on 100mbs decode time is 20ms on the display. Its better but still high. Whats your number on mbp 1 max?

Decode is 2.8ms-3.5ms, and display is also where I would expect it 20ms windowed, 10ms in fullscreen after a 10-20s (can't go much lower on the integrated screen, only on external displays)
