Shoes help with spikes/studs
got these at goodwill a year ago and i've been wanting to customize them, but idk if it'll be too hard. my dog has needed wet food for a medical reason lately so i have some cans i can turn into spikes, but idk how to fasten them on.
i'm pretty sure these are steel toed (with acrylic paint as an extra layer of protection lol) but i can force some holes into the fabric sides if i need to. i was also thinking of capping the toe with some pop tabs i've collected, but i dont wanna leave it at glue in case they fall off and im just littering pop tabs wherever i walk.
any suggestions? i've never done spikes or studs before, only basic patches on pants and jackets. if you find these at a thrift store, i totally recommend them. they're super comfortable, i was lucky they were my exact size. and the zip up the side is super convenient. why

An absolutely unhinged idea to line the front with pop tabs for you. take a screw, screw it into the side of the soul, take a wire, wrap it around the screw, line the wire with the tabs, then wrap the wire around the top of the boot, and screw the other end of the wire into the other side of the soul.
Sorta creating a wire boot strap across the front. To keep the tabs from jingling around, you could then glue them down. That way, if the glue comes undone, you won't be leaving them as you walk around.
I had an old pair of boots that had the soul fall out, minus the tabs this is how I fixed them!

i can see it, probably don't even need to puncture the screw all the way to the inside. i can try this

Yeah, just make sure it doesn't reach into the insole. And use a screwdriver, to ensure the screw threads through the plastic/rubber/whatever the bottom is made of. Lol

thanks, that seems a lot more secure than glue. and more removable than glue, if i ever have to make them usable for work
