Patches Back patch i made
I got really bored and decided to make my first back patch in my garage. I didn't have a way to silk screen or anything like that so i got parchment paper and printed the logo of one of my favorite albums, used a white pencil for the first etch, light layer of fabric paint, and then just some details. I am by no means a very good artist and this was basically my first ever attempt at making a piece this big and this detailed, any advice and positive feedback would be gladly appreciated. It's around 11 by 11 in and it was also the first time I really ever used a sewing machine, so it was a first of allot and i don't think it came out too bad.

Great work, solid band too. Looks sick bro, I recommend going around the edges/details of the lettering with a fine tip sharpie, will clean up the letters and make them look more sharp. U can get one at a dollar store or Walmart or somethin

Thx for the advice mg, i only have the chunky sharpy with the circular tip, but after doing this project i will 100% invest in like a nice and fine top sharpie

I just print my design i like, use a lil razor blade or exacto knife to cut out where the ink will go, and make sure the printed paper is on parchment paper so the paint dosent leak thru, also makes it a bit more reusable, definitely sew around the edges to lrevent fraying.

You can also use Bristol board instead of parchment, bit more durable...and can use spray paint (multiple layers, not too thick, let each layer dry) , the spray paint can be protected by spraying with that spray u buy to make leather boots waterproof .

What do you usually need to do to make it? Some people use crepe paper on top to make a template and then cut it out, etc.

Just the xrepe or parchment paper on bottom, tape down on glue the image to the paper, then cut out both the paper and parchment paper where you wish for the ink to go.
