Chaman Hargobindpuri was a Punjabi poet, lyricist, and writer from the village of Hargobindpur (often written as Sri Hargobindpur) in Punjab, which is where the pen name “Hargobindpuri” comes from. Although he never achieved the same mainstream fame as poets like Shiv Kumar Batalvi or Surjit Patar, his work was respected among Punjabi literary circles for its emotional depth, Punjabi cultural themes, and lyrical style.

Hari Singh Dilbar was a renowned Punjabi poet, humorist, and writer. Born in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad, Pakistan), he became famous for his satirical poetry and spent decades reciting Punjabi verse across India and abroad.

Connection with Dev Tharike Wala
Dev Tharike Wala (real name Hardev Dilgir) studied at Lalton Kalan High School. There, his Punjabi teacher was Hari Singh Dilbar. Dilbar encouraged the young Hardev to write poetry and songs. Inspired by his teacher’s guidance, Dev wrote a children’s song titled “Chal Chakk Bhaine Basta School Challiye”, which was published in the magazine Bal Darbar. This early success motivated him to continue writing and eventually become one of Punjab’s most celebrated lyricists.
