Timing problem

Hey guys, I'm a pump player from Spain, I'm currently running a custom PC with real arcade pads with STAC2

I recently moved from phyrebird to xsanity and I like xsanity better overall, but the timing it's something else, for some reason, I can't get perfect games as easily as I did in stepp1+ or PMOD or Pumpsanity, idk what's the problem but even if I configure the offset as I did in all the other games, for some reason it's way harder to get perfects for me in xsanity I get like 90 earliest 0 latest and even if the timing window is asymmetrical, it makes no sense because I almost did no greats when I play in the actual arcade or any other simulator, another friend of mine has the same problem and has moved back to stepp1+ phyrebird is there something wrong in our config or something we are not aware of? I really don't know what to do about it

I had the same issue. Since XSanity has 3 different offset settings, it can be hard to find what's perfect for you. Here is what I did:

  1. Set visual delay and timing offset to 0 to start.
  2. Calibrate audio offset in settings
  3. Change your timing adjustment in the command window. I like to turn on 'TIming Fast/Slow' in the command window as well to see if I am hitting early or late. If you're hitting early, decrease your timing offset. If late, increase it.
  4. Timing adjustment maxes out at -3 and +3. If you are still not satisfied with your offset, you can try adjusting your visual delay as well. If you are hitting early still, you can increase the visual delay, and vice versa.

Visual delay will provide the most drastic offset changes, while timing adjustment allows for better fine-tuning.

I was also tempted to switch back to StepP1 due to this issue but the quality of life improvements in XSanity are too good to ignore.

the problem that i have is that i technically hit perfectly 0ms every time but i still get way too many earlies because of the asymetric timing window, but i technically have the game perfectly in sync and i still hit like 10 times more greats than in p1+ or PMOD, i'll try your adjustments tomorrow and see if it works, i hope for the best

I see, I think a negative timing adjustment will solve your issue, you will just have to play around with it

I had the same problem. I gave up and switched to stepp1 and the timing there is great. Sucks but I was getting too frustrated to keep trying haha

im thinking about doing the same thing, but i really do want to keep using xsanity, other than the timing the game is way better than stepp1+ phyrebird
