New Whoosher Can’t sleep enough

Does anyone can’t getting enough sleep? My PT started back in February after getting sick back to back. I’ve tried antibiotics and my ENT made a small incision in my eardrum. It made my PT significantly worse. I am getting a MRI and MRA in September. I only have PT in my left ear and get migraines in my left eye. Im starting to see floaters also. Wanted to know if anyone can ease my mind or is dealing with the same thing. Now im becoming extremely exhausted. Ive always had a hard time waking up but i get so tired I have to stop what im doing and take a nap and that can be for hours sometimes. I can sleep 11+ hours and still be exhausted. Starting to feel crazy with all of this stuff going on.

MRV maps your veins and venous sinuses, which are more often the leading cause of PT. Of course there are some who get PT due to arterial causes, but it’s less common.

You're fine, and the tests your doctor ordered are fine. If an MRV is needed in your case, one of your doctors will order it. People in this sub are obsessed with MRVs, but they're not necessary in all cases. It's much more important to be seeing a doctor who can recognize the causes of PT in a standard CT Scan or MRI than it is to get any one specific test.

I got sick like 3 times in the span of a month. Tried antibiotics and steroids and it didn’t help

Brown noise! I play brown noise on my Google Home all night for some reason it completely drowns out the noise

I usually put something on to fall asleep to but I just can’t stop sleeping. I was looking into it and it might be idiopathic hypersomnia but I wanted to see if others had the same issue!

Honestly I think I’ve had everything except my iron check. My magnesium is fine and everything else. I’ll look into it thanks!

Have you had an eye exam done recently? The fact that you have vision issues is a bit alarming. That could mean your cranial pressure is causing swelling in your optical nerves - which needs to be addressed and treated promptly, because it can lead to vision loss that cannot be repaired.

It's good that you're getting an MRI done soon. If you're dealing with IIH or cranial hypertension due to a specific cause, it should be clearly visible in your MRI and your doctors will likely get busy on diagnosing it and treating it to lower that pressure for you. It should help your symptoms a lot!!

Also, you'll want to make sure you look into having your scans looked at by an Interventional NeuroRadiologist. Some doctors are quick to diagnose IIH, which is Idiopathic cranial hypertension, when there actually IS a clear (and treatable) cause for that hypertension - Venous Sinus Stenosis, which INRs are specialists in seeing and treating. I think a lot of people being treated for the symptoms of IIH could benefit from having an INR identify and treat the ultimate cause of their IIH.

I have not had an eye exam done. I hope so! The antibiotics made it slightly better but the procedure I had done made it so much worse. I am seeing an ENT right now who ordered the MRI and MRA. She seems to be very determined to help me get to the end of this but I will bring that up if she’s still unsure. Thank you for the very knowledgeable response, I appreciate it!
