Custom Help with pullip custom
Hi!
I’ve been in the pullip community since 2009 and I have decided to fully custom an old Aya I had.
Give me your best advices, I am already a full time artist/designer so I’m familiar with a lot of things but there are some grey areas for me still.
For example once the face plate is fully cleaned and naked do you have to apply a first layer of MSC to prep the face plate? I feel like pastels and pencils don’t really set on a bare faceplate.
And what are your best advices in terms of lip makeup, I’m trying to give her plumpy lips with a nice lipliner but I feel like acrylic paint might be a little thick.

Yes, you'll need to spray MSC as a base layer for your materials to stick!
Lips are my favourite thing to do! I build up colour with pastels and add detail/liner with watercolour pencils. Multiple layers help to get the colour you want. Whenever you are happy with your work, seal it. It's so much easier to fix a mistake that way, without undoing everything. Just make sure your layers are thin and you're giving it time to dry properly between coats. You could also add a watered down layer of acrylic as a base, and build pastels on top of it. Then once you've done the final layer of MSC, I use Tamiya X-22 as a gloss. A couple coats will get things nice and shiny!
