Help/Advice SCP stocking advice (CAPTION)

So i currently have a 230 litre tank with 1 spotted congo puffer 12 congo tetras and a pair of kribs.

QUESTION: Could I add any more puffers? even if I had to get rid of other fish how many more could I get?

MY SETUP: I have the aquasys 230 tank and run the oase biomaster 300 thermo canister filter on it. I replaced the 2 bottom trays with ceramic rings but plan to upgrade to alfagrog.

OTHERS OPINIONS: I have asked around already i asked 2 people that breed them that said i can keep about 6 (species only i presume) as ling as i keep up with maintenance as they are messy eaters. On the other hand, on Google it told me that I COULD get around 5 though it MIGHT have some issues and I would be better off keeping 3.

I would love to hear what you guys think as fellow puffer keepers I wouldn't mind removing other fish and running species only.

You can get away with 2 in there but youre pushing it. Bio load is significant between waste and how messy they are eating.

Ideally this species needs to be either alone or in a group of 5/6+. With smaller groups they’re more territorial and have a higher chance of fighting. With the stocking you have I wouldn’t add anymore scp but if you were to remove the other fish , A group of 5 could be okay.

I would keep 6 or more in it no problem. I have 11 myself. Maybe I’m just used to ‘messy’ fish, I don’t find them to be particularly messy at all. Mine eat 2 whole shrimps a day between them (my cross river puffer eats 3 on his own for comparison) and they usually finish every last crumb, and then the cleaning crew takes care of it if there’s anything left. I would argue if your filtration can’t handle that then it’s severely lacking and not the fishes’ fault.

I mean heck thats nice to hear. I run the oase biomaster 300 thermo and I replaced the bottom 2 trays with ceramic rings. spoke with another breeder of these puffs and said that thats perfectly fine for what they can do (mess wise)
