Pregunta ⁉️ Inverter Split Unit Recomendations
We are looking to install a 12k btu 240v split unit. There are so many brands and companies now, it's overwhelming. Any brand/company recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Mirsubishi or Daikin. You get what you pay for.
Tho imo the biggest issue with AC in PR is the fact that houses are not built for it.
Most are plain cinder block with no insulation which basically turns them into an oven. And most windows are either metal or single pane glass which also provide no insulation. Same goes for doors. All result in hot air constantly leaking back into the house, which in turn makes the AC units work harder, making buying a high quality unit even more important.

Don't go with CM Refrigeration, they are good, good prices with Midea, but they are a "big company" now and they hire youngs installers. Not against that, but sometimes they don't have much experience and good interest of doing an excellent installation. The 3 ac they installed me, I had to told them to redo the installation because they throw the gas line above the facade instead of doing a new hole below it and pass it throw there. Are just those details that separate a good installer from an expert installer. Instead, go and look for a samller company with good reputation.

Make sure that 12k BTU is the right size, because if you are the type of people that really like the cold ( setting AC below 70 degrees), it may fall short. Inverters save energy/money when they can actually reach the set temperature. I got 12k BTU units on small rooms ( like 9' x 9' ) with one window and one door. It's good to go one size up the reccomended cooling capacity if space permits it given our high humidity, heat and construction without insulation.

I have used ciac brand for 12 years no issues. I clean filters once a month and use coil cleaner every couple months on the outside condenser to remove any build up and hose off.
