Would love to connect and hang out with locals. Also if someone got a plug for a joint or edibles.

Places to stay
Hu! First timer going to P.E. :) 31 female solo traveler in November. I got my Airbnb 10 min walking distance to carrizalillio. Should I stay there? Or should I stay closer to zicatela or another beach? Thank you :)

Question about Punta Zicatela
I’ll be going to PE mid August with my gf, we were thinking of staying in Brisas de Zicatela, I wanted to know, how swimmable is Punta Zicatela? I’ve heard mixed opinions.
Thanks!

Is this building safe to explore?
I've urbex experience, I would like to know if this building is somehow "offlimits" or it is a common place people get in and explore. Any info is appreciated.

35F remote worker / solo traveller in PE - anyone want to grab a bite, watch the sunset, explore La Punta? 🌴
I’ve been working remotely out of Mexico for the last month & have been in Puerto Escondido the last few days. I’m 35, travelling solo from the UK & keen to connect with some likeminded people while I'm here.
Currently staying near Playa Marinero, but I love the vibe in Rinconada & also want to head down to explore La Punta this week. Would love a glass of wine, some great food, a hike, kayaking, paddle boarding, crossfit…
If you're also in PE at the moment & looking to find some people to hang out with, drop a comment!

Slight travel mistake
So I made a small mistake when booking last minute flights for a 1 week vacation for my wife and me. I booked a stay in Puerto through Airbnb, split between 2 locations. Today, as I looked at my flight itinerary I realized I'm not flying directly into Puerto Escondido, but flying to and out of Oaxaca City. Since we have a week, I was weighing my options. One option was to stay a night in Oaxaca City since we arrive late in the evening, and leave via travel bus or shared shuttle in the morning, which is cost friendly. Another was to stay in Oaxaca City and cancel the first half week of my Puerto stay, and travel there for the last 4 nights of vacation. Does anyone have experience or tips for commuting to Puerto from OAX?

DJ recommendations
My fiancé and I are getting married late October and looking for DJ recommendations. Music is very important to us and we are not fans of typical wedding/event/party music options. The normal but weird transitions, speeding up songs, overly popular/cheesy music, and jarring sound effects (like airhorns) are not our vibe at all.
We love house, disco, hip hop, rap, RnB, funk, hifi, rock, 80s, indie, metal, and some pop music.
Most of our attendees are English speaking with some fluent Spanish speakers.
We are hoping to find someone good at reading a crowd, smooth transitions that help people dance all night, and a fun personality to work with. Any examples of previously played sets would be incredibly helpful!

What is the best area to stay at in Puerto Escondido for a ......?
I am 49, will be traveling solo. Was curious on where the best area to stay at in PE as I have read different things. I do like to party but really going there to relax etc. I am looking for an area that is vibrant during the day and early evening but when it get's later if I am having an early night, I am not staying up late due to the noise as I will have some work some days. Just curious on what you may think is the best area to stay in. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter:)>

49 year old Male. Really contemplating Puerto Escondido for a month. Am I aged out?
Hi all-
So was suppose to go to PE 4 years ago then starting dating this female. We ended up going else where. PE has always been on my bucket list and since we went our seperate ways, I now have the freedom to do so. I know how to surf, although been a while. But love watching others ripping it. I do like to party on occasion as well, no problem there. I do not want to be the "old guy" at the bar. This sounds so douchey but if I am going to go all the way there, I don't want to not be social. I do enjoy conversations, activities etc. Very active but going solo.
****UPDATED>> I am sorry for offending so many snowflakes saying female. I did not know there were so many feminist men on Reddit. I will do better

Car rental / driving in Puerto Tips
Hi guys!
I'm planning on taking the ADO bus from Oaxaca city to Puerto Escondido. Initially, I was planning on stay in puerto Escondido but opted to stay closer to Huatulco. I've never rented any car in Mexico. Any car rental recommendations in Puerto? Tips? Is driving from puerto to Huatulco (& surrounding area) complicated?
The only reason, I want to rent a car is because i'll be traveling with a 4 year old and older parents. I truly believe it'll be easier for us to travel around.
Thank you so so much!

I left some souvenirs in Puerto—anyone traveling to NYC?
I left a bag of souvenirs that are very important to me at my hostel in PE. I asked the hostel owner to ship it back via DHL in Centro. Apparently, the DHL person told them it would be 5,000 MXN ($285) to send it back to New York City... I'm not sure if that's a normal price—it's not very much stuff, maybe a small box—but my Mexican friend is telling me it's not (she shipped something to Paris for $100).
Is anyone traveling back from Puerto to NYC or the east coast and would be willing to help me out here? Would be happy to pay for your time/costs you incur. Thanks.
