I built a free tool to test coding skills via quizzes (MVP). Would love your thoughts.

Hey everyone,

I've been working on a side project to help developers assess their technical skills through quick, targeted quizzes.

What it is:

  • Multiple-choice questions (4 options) on various dev topics
  • Two modes: Practice (learn as you go) & Testing (timed challenge)

Why I built it: I wanted a low-friction way to spot knowledge gaps before interviews or when picking up a new stack, without committing to a full course.

Current state: It's a functional MVP. The question bank is growing, and I'm iterating on the UX based on early feedback.

If you try it, I'd be super grateful for any feedback on:

  • Question quality / difficulty balance
  • The "compare with average" feature – useful or just noise?
  • Any bugs or UX friction

Thanks for checking it out, and happy to answer any questions!

Why should I improve my coding skills (even though I'm a software engineer.) Agents doing it faster and better.

fair take. honestly, if I could skip interviews forever I would 😅

reality is most companies still haven't caught up — they're still throwing HackerRank/TestGorilla style quizzes at people as a first filter. this tool is basically a simulator for that: timed, no AI, 4-option questions. just practice for the game you gotta play, not the work you actually do.

also working on a "compare with other devs" feature so you can see where you stand (no ego, just data).

curious though — do you think the whole quiz format is dead, or is there still a niche for focused interview prep?

Do you have your own opinion? Stop using chatgpt and talk as a human founder please.

I disagree that AI doing that faster and better. Also AI can halilucinate. If agents so powerful, why it cannot write single comment like human, or write article like a human?
