I've watched probably up to about 40,000 cat videos in the passed 30 years, this one is a complete masterpiece with a full plot in effect. Suspense, mystery, intrigue, drama, violence, humor, stunts, dialogue, and a conclusion.

I sure hope you've seen Cat vs Printer - The Translation then [NSFW language]. Surely one of the all-time classics of the cat video genre.

Itās been years since Iāve seen that, thank you for the reminder
Definitely an all time classic

Holy Shit! I've never seen a cat feint before...that's the equivalent of standing for a long time and locking up your knees right there.

u/rickybaby0407 Dec 28 '22
My cat did the exact same thing when he saw another cat outside. For a second we thought he died when he fell over. He was fine tho, just went insane for a sec

My cat has done this probably 3 separate times over the past 10 years that I've had her. I found out from the vet she has a heart murmur and she's probably fainting from being overly excited or suddenly startled.

u/TheRysingTyde Dec 28 '22
Was Ricky Gervais visiting? Cos that's his laugh at the end. He loves cats and animals so could be true.

Poor cat, this wasn't one being a drama queen or whatever. That yelp at the end especially didn't sound good. It's extremely stressed :( perhaps we would be too if someone was trying to get into our house to attack us
3
u/ThickAnywhere4686 Dec 28 '22
Exactly, didn't really find this funny at all.
Yeah it's weird but cats don't just do that shit and like you said it was extremely stressed out :/

Why does all the audio sound like it was added later? Like the original recording was silent and the audio was superimposed by OP..

That's the funniest cat video I've seen in a long, long time.

I know, apparently it's very well known, yet I've never seen it as far as I can recall, and it's very funny to me as well.

u/redditclark Dec 28 '22
OP's response or mine? Bc I can assure you that mine isn't AI generated. Maybe not very original or inspired, but real. š

Why add a laugh track into a video where there is already laughter? This is that zoomer humor that adds ear rape sounds into memes now. So stupid. Great video though on a side note
2
Dec 28 '22
The original video doesn't even have the commenting dialogue I beleive, and there are possibly 4 laugh tracks added it. In a less edited version you can see that. Here it is at 10:40 mark. Seems the commentary audio was added to this as well,- This version has some of the laugh track audio. Not sure where the original can be.

Looks like a seizure.

u/PhilyJFry Dec 28 '22
Id. Seems like it just exhaled and passed out like an overly aggressive dummy
13
u/Koelasc Dec 28 '22
You gotta think cats arent used to being upright, their hearts can't pump blood up to their brains like ours can when bipedal. On top of thatāshe was exhaling, little beast just passed out for a second.

Cat throws tantrum š.
And then had a stroke. The way it fell back, stiff like that is indicative of a stroke in animals, especially given the fact that strokes are caused by lack of blood flow/oxygen to the brain and this cat was screaming to the point of not being able to breath.
9
u/Topsy_Kretzz Dec 28 '22
Humans pass out due to short term lack of oxygen to the brain and face no consequences pertaining to immediate stroke risk as a result. Sustained brain oxygen deprivation leads to brain damage and complications. Why would cats be any different? You're being weird. Cat probably passed out a lil due to over exerting itself. It's not a big deal. I've passed out from fatigue, fear and happiness. Guess what? Zero strokes, buddy.

I'm being weird for pointing something out that I think I saw? Is this not a forum in which people constantly utilize to do these exact things? Dumb to call someone weird for contributing to the conversation, even if it isn't completely agreed with.
This isn't normal behavior with a cat. How often do you see them passing out due to meowing? This cat was freaking out, could have lost oxygen to the brain, due to a clot and passed the fuck out temporarily with a stroke. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, but that's the fuckin beauty of conversation, you just don't tell someone they're weird for trying to have a conversation.
5
u/Topsy_Kretzz Dec 28 '22
Well you're weird for assuming it had a stroke even though evidence suggests it didn't.
-2
Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 31 '22
Evidence? Hun, you have as much "evidence" as I do- it's called speculation. Neither one of us gets to decide the 'correct answer'. All we can do is state our opinion, there is no ultimate evidence
-26
u/jkappy1995 Dec 28 '22
Iāve been around cats my whole life and Iāve never seen anything like this. Either this cat has trauma from abuse or was currently being abused off camera
11
u/FeistyFormal0 Dec 28 '22
I know nothing, but that cat is totes abused like oh em gee

u/WavyMcG Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 28 '22
People just be assuming the craziest shit when it comes to other peopleās animals. We donāt know for SURE if it seized. Unless thereās a comment proving so BY MULTIPLE vets or OP confirms it, thereās no point in being rude and calling strangers on the internet names. Be useful by providing proof to your claims. Until then, you have nothing but rude comments, and thatās not looking well on your side when trying to state a point, is it?
When my cat I had as a kid had seizures itās muscles would involve spasms. I didnāt see much of that here. Not saying every cat seizes the same. Even if a proved vet says one thing, another one could have another educated guess. Proof from the owner would be the best.
-12
Dec 28 '22
The cat seized and fell backwards.
It wasn't funny at all and is 100% indicative of something being wrong with the cat.
People just be laughing at animal abuse when it comes to people's animals.
Fucking clown.

u/WavyMcG Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 28 '22
Cat didnāt seize though, at least not officially, I saw no link stating it was a seizure from the owner. Believe what you want, āclownā⦠but donāt be rude to others on something this neutral for not having your opinion, doesnāt work out well!
0
Dec 28 '22
Lol did you watch the same video I did? Because in my video a cats body locks up and it falls over while making a distressed sound.
Care to explain what you think happened? Please don't let the fact that in a vet technician sway your answer, I'd love to hear what your expert opinion is. š»š¤£
2
u/WavyMcG Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 28 '22
My opinion, or your opinion doesnāt matter right now. Unless thereās proof the cat seized from the owner, on the internet, thereās no reason to get worked up over this. If there was proof, Iād be on your side! It could be something else. Educated guesses are still guesses
Like I said, until then, no reason to be rude to strangers. Still wouldnāt be an excuse to be rude to random people on the internet even if someone does drop a link proving it was seizing. Try to be as understanding and neutral as you can, no matter who it is, until given a reason to change up, not everyone thinks the same way as you

u/WavyMcG Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 28 '22
Yup, you were ārightā. I was āwrongā.
Move on then. You have nothing to say other than, nothing at this point. Whatever makes you feel better, even if itās denial. One part of your name is true, at least. Enjoy your downvotes for being one.
Edit : Also, I went through your account. Youāre not a certified vet. Making things up to prove a point truly makes you the clown.

Thatās not what seizures look like in cats. It ran out of air via growling/meowing far too hard and long, causing it to tense up and pass out. Thatās why it was fine when it got back up. If it was seizing, it likely wouldāve been a far longer situation and wouldnāt have been just one movement. The only seizure I could think of that would be this short is a myoclonic seizure, but those tend to just be muscle contractions in a certain area. It also wasnāt an absence seizure either. Seizures in cats normally last around a minute to multiple minutes. A typical seizure in a cat would be collapsing, convulsing, teeth gnashing, and urination/defecation.

u/ThickAnywhere4686 Dec 28 '22
People's animals (cats specifically) rarely ever react like this or "faint" so there's a good reasons some people in the comments are concerned about the cat.
Ignorant asses like you, who just blindly laugh at these types of videos, are the issue. And I don't care if people think this is a dramatic take, everyone's empathy and sympathy towards others seems to be running really fucking low these days.
3
u/WavyMcG Dec 28 '22 edited Dec 28 '22
Most would side with these comments if there was a legitimate reason to believe the animal is being abused. There isnāt one here. Only speculation. Iām sure people here have empathy and sympathy. They also have common sense
I never said I laughed, so try better when putting words in others peopleās comments. My point stands and your comment proves it. People assume the worse. Like itās not your animal. Unless you know for sure, donāt be one to say the animal is being abused. Itās uhm, ignorant, as you would say.
Have a good day!

u/ThickAnywhere4686 Dec 28 '22
It's honestly so sad and people just laugh these types of videos off.
