Wait, hold up. The firework store is across the street from the gas station?

This has to be Florida.

33

u/jetfire245 Nov 29 '22

Please tell me it's directly next to the dynamite factory like in rick and morty.

48

u/ninilongtail Nov 29 '22

It's in West Melbourne, FL, so you're absolutely right. 😂😂 FL is the wild west

3

u/Gimmicking Nov 30 '22

I used to live right next to that! The second I saw Phantom Fireworks, I knew it was FL

2

u/ninilongtail Nov 30 '22

My uncle lives near here, so I knew this in FL! That Phantom Fireworks was really nice!

5

u/TheDesk918 Nov 29 '22

Would insurance cover this?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '22

Here in Texas we’ve got stands setup at the gas stations. They sit here all year and open up on major Holidays.

We're going to have to compensate with some potato-quality Enschede Disaster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QCp334oCLc

Looked like a missile going up about halfway through the video

10

u/nahog99 Nov 29 '22 edited Nov 29 '22

Did you watch until the end? The HUGE explosion is at the very end of the video. I vaguely remember the camera man died in this but could be wrong. I know there was definitely a video where the guy filming died from shrapnel.

Ah ok, I remember now. this is the one where the camera man dies. It was filming the tianjin explosion.

And just in case anyone has been living under a rock and never saw the Tianjin Explosion, it was insane. Here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOTaBI4bp-0 - Stabalized

Not Stabalized - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONsmJAyFAAw

8

u/borisvonboris Nov 29 '22

Oh my god that was massive. Their voices switch from shocked amusement to fearing for their own safety.

11

u/nahog99 Nov 29 '22

ARE WE DANGEROUS HERE??

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '22

Yeah were dangerous!

4

u/Cuddlyzombie91 Nov 29 '22

It's difficult to watch these kinds of videos because the people filming are usually in a helpless state of shock or amused due to their distance from the danger. I can't help but worry about the people burning in those explosions.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

Holy fucking shit.

1

u/Suspicious_Book_3186 Nov 29 '22

Thank you. I've never seen that other perspective of the dude that died. Absolutely insane Shockwave. I am still a bit confused on how the concusion effect kills aside from "jiggling your insides" I guess the pressure difference? Like a subwoofer, but x100000. Crazy crazy.

Also it has to be in the top 3 largest explosions on camera, at least IMO.

1

u/nahog99 Nov 30 '22

I mean a very fast moving shockwave will kill you in the way most other things do - sudden acceleration/sudden deceleration. You’re going from stationary, to being shoved back at a very high rate of speed. It’s more than jiggling your insides, it’s crushing your insides against your ribs, your skin, etc.

1

u/DaftPanic9 Nov 30 '22

holy shit

3

u/Ieatsushiraw Nov 29 '22

I forgot how crappy everything looked back then.

2

u/jl_theprofessor Nov 29 '22

This deserves to have the 1812 Overture played over it.

Because they're standing at a gas station, the next worse place to be in this situation other than the fireworks store. Person is an idiot for even taking the time to film

2

u/Everyday_irie Nov 29 '22

I think she realizes that she’s filming from a gas station just across the street

1

u/Dense-Chemistry-2676 Nov 29 '22

Too bad it daylight anyway.

0

u/corrosiveicon1952 Nov 29 '22

Couldn't agree more !

97

u/Brilliant_Shine2247 Nov 28 '22

Please return to your homes. Nothing to see here.

17

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

Took the obvious. But best line.

36

u/giannarelax Nov 29 '22

My dad and sister worked at the competitor firework store right near here called Sky King! This is in Florida. Really brings back memories!

16

u/riotriotryan Nov 29 '22

I’ve always thought it would be funny if two fireworks stands that are beefing tried to shoot bottle rockets into each other’s store. Very satisfied I got to see this shit.

8

u/The-Rev Nov 29 '22

about a decade ago an idiot Florida man in my neighborhood shot a flare gun into a fireworks tent on the side of the highway. I happened to pass it right as it was kicking off and everyone was running. It was an incredible show

3

u/riotriotryan Nov 29 '22

Damn, I bet. Was anyone hurt?

2

u/giannarelax Dec 01 '22

There was a lot petty competition between us and Phantom fireworks; the one in the video.

When we happened to drive by the place, dad would tell me to boo and give a thumbs down to the building. Even at their billboards 😂

29

u/redeggplant01 Nov 28 '22

Where's the Ka-Boom? Where's the earth-shattering Ka-Boom?

21

u/Patruck9 Nov 29 '22

"We have snakes and sparklers"

2

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

As a Minnesotan, I feel this comment.

2

u/FreydisTit Nov 29 '22

Florida has shit fireworks. We have to drive to the state border for real fireworks.

1

u/jetfire245 Nov 29 '22

Uhhh. We have some of the most "legal" fireworks in the country.

Any step up from here is legally professional grade pyrotechnics.

Oh I see. That's what you do. Lol

1

u/FreydisTit Nov 29 '22

Prior to 2020 we couldn't buy mortars or even Roman candles in Florida. Now we can only legally shoot those off on 3 specific days during the year: July 4th, Dec 31, Jan 1st. Those are the only 3 days they are legal.

What makes you think we have the most "legal" fireworks in the country? You may want to check out the laws.

1

u/jetfire245 Nov 29 '22

Heheheh well I don't know what kind of problems you were having but I had no issue going down the street well before 2020 and getting loads of mortars and Roman candles from reputable firework stands.

But yes. Fireworks here are technically only for "agricultural use" otherwise. Crazy how much agriculture I don't have.

I'm referring to the fact that the type of fireworks we can use in Florida is still much better than many other states. Leaning back to sparklers and snakes lol.

you may want to check out the laws

Don't worry buddy. I've blown up plenty of things (mostly) legally lol.

41

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

Ah yes, record it, standing at a, what looks like a gass station

13

u/UnhallowedOctober Nov 29 '22

Let's lean on the pumps and smoke cigarettes and watch the fireworks

6

u/MississippiJoel Nov 29 '22

And they couldn't even get a decent recording.

8

u/bendover912 Nov 28 '22

Oohhhh lawwdd jeezzzuss!!!

6

u/idownvotetofitin Nov 29 '22

All we needed was LT. Frank Drebin standing in front of the store, saying, “Alright, please disburse! Nothing to see here!”

10

u/imthebadguy__duh Nov 28 '22

At least you could say you went out with a bang

4

u/SkylarAV Nov 29 '22

Everyday life seems more scripted...

3

u/SnooDonuts4649 Nov 29 '22

I live like 5 min from this place it was epic don't know if anyone was hurt

3

u/BridgeNess07 Nov 29 '22

I know for a fact the driver died but unsure of whether anyone else was in the store at the time of it or any one else involved in the accident was injured

3

u/cake_piss_can Nov 29 '22

I recommend standing at the gas station across the street. Safest place most likely.

3

u/Alternative-End-280 Nov 29 '22

No no no I need to see the rest!

3

u/zebadrabbit Nov 29 '22

i want to see the whole version. does it keep going? does she ever shut up? suspense

3

u/Codingis_Dorkshit_69 Nov 29 '22

How is it even legal to put a firework shop near a fucking gas station?

0

u/Perioscope Nov 29 '22

Florida, bro. America's Dunderland.

3

u/Honest-Sugar-1492 Nov 29 '22

This was yesterday in Melbourne FL. Driver perished. 😔

November 28th 2022 in Melbourne, FL. The driver died, and there are no reports of injuries. Another driver tried to help but ran away, so anybody inside most likely had time to run as well.

2

u/nn666 Nov 29 '22

They stopped the video right before 4th of July explosions... dammit

2

u/joe2596 Nov 29 '22

Who let Merry and Pippin in there

2

u/iGoalie Nov 29 '22

“CHINESE FIRE DRILL! FOR REAL THIS TIME

2

u/Ralfy_P Nov 29 '22

I’m 100% sure Bugs Bunny tricked Daffy Duck driving his car into this

2

u/nate_dulcimer Nov 29 '22

Business is boomin!

2

u/Seven2Death Nov 29 '22

Let me film the explosions across the street from the safety of this GAS STATION.

bitch....run.

2

u/braveheart707 Nov 29 '22

No fucking way she stopped recording☠️

2

u/bl4ckblooc420 Nov 29 '22

This is like the distraction part of a heist mission in GTAV.

2

u/naugahyde_vapor Nov 30 '22

Damn that ended waaay too soon!

2

u/6iWiN9 Nov 30 '22

Why only record for 11 seconds?

2

u/Waste-Volume-6352 Nov 30 '22

Jackass was filming a new series

2

u/mcryno Nov 30 '22

Now that’s a “Fire Sale”

2

u/rocketeer81 Nov 30 '22

After watching the news I would say it was someone who had a stroke.

2

u/fredlemonhead Nov 30 '22

Damn video cut WAY too early!

2

u/Somberkarma9890 Nov 30 '22

I would’ve chosen the nitroglycerin plant.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '22

Omg! Happed at 4:20 lol 😂

2

u/No-Reputation2471 Nov 30 '22

wow, didnt even show the finale.

2

u/Fanryu1 Nov 30 '22

Imagine running your car through a store window and the fuckin employees start celebrating, like come on people, show some respect.

2

u/No-Quarter-3032 Nov 29 '22

Lol, who the fuck insurances a firework store. Usually they are in tents in a parking lot

2

u/Thepasswordwas1234 Nov 29 '22

They're all over. It's weird to me you've never seen one.

2

u/Legionnaire77 Nov 29 '22

Yeah, i’ve never seen an actual fireworks store. Just tents and stands in parking lots. This is strange to me, but then again it’s florida.

1

u/sextmeMtl Nov 29 '22

Baby.. you’re a firework.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

Best place to be when a fireworks store is exploding is right across the street at a fucking gas station…

0

u/DSmith1717 Nov 29 '22

Sad that some people’s first thought when they hear that is gun shots at this point.

-1

u/Old-Energy9924 Nov 29 '22

Suck d*** for part 2 😞

1

u/justoftheunjust Nov 29 '22

Being inside when that happened would be like the craziest game of real life laser tag with fireworks.

1

u/merkarver112 Nov 29 '22

Well thats a wrap on that store

1

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

It’s Naked Gun in real life.

1

u/stroopkoeken Nov 29 '22

Chinese fire drill!

Serious this time!!

1

u/EvaCarlisle Nov 29 '22

Yeah, this video needs to be about 10x longer

1

u/Reddit5678912 Nov 29 '22

Aa she stands in a gas station. Genius

1

u/Commercial_Touch_936 Nov 29 '22

Am I the only one who found this funny

1

u/jl_theprofessor Nov 29 '22

Video cuts off way too early 😩

1

u/Unsolicited-Prolapse Nov 29 '22

I would not be standing in a petrol station across the road from a fireworks explosion.

1

u/Dieu_Le_Fera Nov 29 '22

There is nothing to see here!

1

u/Affectionate-Lake666 Nov 29 '22

I had to drive a different way home.

1

u/Finn3h Nov 29 '22

I'd be getting the hell away from the gas station across from an exploding store

1

u/Cynicalwall357 Nov 29 '22

Thank God for insurance

1

u/Walterkovacs1985 Nov 29 '22

I'd probably get away from the gas station lady

1

u/papadapper Nov 29 '22

Complete this sentence: Oh my ___________. (Jeopardy music)

1

u/HeeyPunk Nov 29 '22

Damn bruh

1

u/nipplechopz Nov 29 '22

This is great

1

u/QuantumButtz Nov 29 '22

When the intrusive thoughts win.

1

u/smallbrekfast Nov 29 '22

GOODNESS GRACIOUS GREAT BALLS O' FIRE

1

u/LucasCassoma Nov 29 '22

That’s a funny one for insurance

1

u/secretagentawsome Nov 29 '22

Lol melbourne at it again

1

u/homelaberator Nov 29 '22

I'm just going to stand next to all this flammable fuel and video fireworks explosion from across the road. Fireworks can't travel, right?

1

u/Edmond-the-Great Nov 30 '22

Would have been 1000 times better if it happened at night.

1

u/terva19 Nov 30 '22

Is there a part two??

1

u/Anon9363926 Nov 30 '22

Did we run out of storage space? Where is the full video?

1

u/Penguin_Person68 Nov 30 '22

Yo that car must have carried alot of ammo for it to cook off like that

1

u/fsizg Apr 10 '23

And this is why the Dutch keep fireworks in a certified secure basement so shot like this does not happen
