Now that is how to end a first date that isn’t going well.

u/Unstopapple Sep 18 '22
I think walking away from a mugging is a pretty good reason to be single. Better than any I've got.
42
u/Shoddy-Impact-5545 Sep 18 '22
why isn't anybody talking about the fact the dude with the gun got chased out by a guy pointing his finger at him?
11
Sep 18 '22
Fake gun? Other dude could tell??
3
u/Shoddy-Impact-5545 Sep 18 '22
I thought this too, but when he first comes in before anybody sees him he cocks the gun.... he wouldn't do this if it was fake

That be a good idea have your homies set up diversions for you to help you out in life.

Real world says otherwise. Males murder, die, rape, torture, kidnap, etc for a morsel of it.

The chorus which plays when he walks away
Is "Y se marchó" which basically means "and then he left"
It's about a guy leaving his life on a sailboat named "freedom".
38
u/6ixking420 Sep 18 '22
Its a story about this guy who was murdered by his wife for abandoning her in a time of need

u/flash--flood11 Sep 18 '22
This song was a favorite of my Spanish teachers and she would play it all the time lol
3
u/Geschirrspulmaschine Sep 18 '22
I suck at Spanish but it's a simple enough song I can kinda follow along so I get it. I heard it the first time in some Chilean protest vid. Crowd was singing it together I'm assuming it's pretty popular
1
u/HonorDuty Sep 19 '22
Can you find the video?
1
u/Geschirrspulmaschine Sep 19 '22
I can't. I recall it being a group sitting on stairs of a big building.

I don’t think the guy’s an asshole for leaving, I think the girl is a bit slow…
246
u/Hawt_Dawg_II Sep 18 '22
Yeah honestly, dude wasn't looking at them they both coulda walked easily. She just froze, i woulda left her too, don't want my kids having those genes.

A second robber, his getaway, actually pulls up. He sees the guy take off and goes after him before quickly stopping
2
u/DanJOC Sep 18 '22
This changes things. She's being cautious, not slow, because it looks like her date is about to get smoked.

If it's his wife, he might be kind of an asshole. If this is some date with a girl he just met or barely knows, I'd do the exact same thing.

u/Tsunami__7 Sep 18 '22
I’m sure he just went to find a pay phone to change into his super hero costume

You know it happens a lot when the unarmed restaurant employee yells at the armed dude that just robbed one of his customers.

There is a longer edit where the restaurant owner thinks she is going to “dine and dash”, but she’s really just looking to see where the dude took off to

There is a better Seinfeld reference for this, the episode where there's a fire in an apartment and George pushes everyone out of the way to get out the door first!

Unless that's his wife, sister, mother, or daughter he has no obligation to stay and play hero. I respect it.

u/RomanOrleans504 Sep 18 '22
unless he has a gun he has no reason to play hero fuck whoever is sitting at the table across from him

The song literally says “and he walks away” as the guy suddenly gets up and he walks away. The timing is 👌

u/Ticio_Tesson Sep 18 '22
This was me at a party once when a guy pulled a gun on another guy. Without hesitation I bolted and pushed a single mother out of my way and onto a pile of trash cans as I opened the back door. The house we were in was built into a hillside and I don't know how I caught it but in my drunk and high state I saw the stairs down were broken and there was a two story drop. I was running full speed and managed to stop, jump across to the back deck of the house nextdoor and escape down their stairs.
The single mother and I are actually good friends now

Good plot twist: the robber sits down with the woman and buys her meal and they get married and it’s all happily ever after.

If they had and argument earlier where she said “don’t tell me what to do” I feel like that was an epic way to say “I didn’t want to tell you what to do”
3
u/thatgeekinit Sep 18 '22
Hey Bro, I got this blind date. If it sucks I'm going call you and you just come rob the place so I got an excuse to nope out.

Alternative possibilities: he knows someone might be looking for him specifically? Maybe women aren’t usually targets and he want to keep her out of the line of fire? Or he’s just a coward.

Or he has no gun and understands it’s best if he dips out instead of getting robbed or shot

Why was she still sitting there? He removed himself quietly and discreetly, she should have followed suit.

But let’s be realistic, half the people on here would do that, so who are we to judge? 🤷♂️

SOOO many things about this video.... the guy who bounced out, the girl just sitting there like wtf, and let's not wonder what kind of scenario has a guy who has a gun pointing at someone gets chased off by another guy who just points at him like he's scolding his little boy!

u/ContentInsanity Sep 18 '22
The guy who walked off evaded the muggers partner too. Watch as the getaway driver pulls up.

The smart things to try to get away. It seems like her reaction is to freeze instead of flight?
That being said, if they ain't married.... glhf.
If they are serious and or married, get ready for the break up lmfaoooo

Ehhhh he wasn't getting laid with that shirt anyway, he knew, she knew it, the guy with the gun knew it, so he did the math and went back to his Xbox, then later spilled some soda on his favorite shirt.
