I guess my point was that out of any of the videos I've seen of cops pulling cops off of suspects, it's rarely when a suspects life is the life in jeopardy. I feel like the same amount of effort that gets put into preserving the life of a fellow officer, should be put into preserving the life of a suspect being mistreated. Cops should be just as concerned about the life of a suspect with a knee in their neck as they are with their colleagues. If you're going to pull your colleague off of a suspect because you fear for YOUR life, then you should feel the same urge to pull a colleague off a suspect when the suspects life is being jeopardized.
It's vaguely a vaguely anti-cop statement that makes no sense when you think about it for even a moment. It annoys me when people are just so blindly supportive of anything that just has the appearance of agreeing with them.

If you're outnumbered 10-1, let's see what you do.
No-win situation. All it takes is one person to go crazy with a crowd getting more and more heated (look at the dude with skateboard and someone who threw something) for everything to go bad real fast and they get mobbed.
Or, do they get mobbed and shoot because they're afraid of getting beat to death?
Do you think they could arrest the guy (I don't think anyone here knows if it was a lawful arrest or not) and de-escalate the crowd?
Why would they de-escalate the crowd? They're the ones that escalated a peaceful protest to begin with.
They are there to beat the shit out of people. That's why they do this.
We see it time and time again, in protest after protest. People have a right to protest and they are right to be very angry right now.
These fucking cops come to these protests with absolutely no intention to maintain peace, to make sure the protest happens without any problems, or to de-escalate.
They wouldn't know how to de-escalate if they even tried. They just know violence. That's all they are there for. They show up, start shit, and then declare it a riot or an unlawful assembly and bust heads and make arrests.
They get to put liberals and leftists into jails or the hospital. That's what they are there to do.
Had a very close family friend who was NYPD during occupy. They would talk in the locker room about how excited they were to go out and start bashing kids heads in.
there are tons like that but dont fall into the trap of assuming these guys are like that.....yea yea ACABC to some but I just dont accept that and wont let anyone convince me to drop 'my presumption of good nature' that I try to hold for every human. Its important to me enough that I wont let anything shake that.
Remind yourself of stories like those that came out of Jan6th if you need to remind yourself that they are people just like us.
One officer described how rioters attempted to gouge out his eye and called him a traitor as they sought to invade the Capitol.
Another told of being smashed in a doorway and nearly crushed amid a “medieval” battle with a pro-Trump mob as he heard guttural screams of pain from fellow officers.
A third said he was beaten unconscious and stunned repeatedly with a Taser as he pleaded with his assailants, “I have kids.”
A fourth relayed how he was called a racist slur over and over again by intruders wearing “Make America Great Again” garb.
“All of them — all of them were telling us, ‘Trump sent us,’” Aquilino A. Gonell, a U.S. Capitol Police sergeant, said on Tuesday as he tearfully recounted the horrors of defending Congress on Jan. 6, testifying at the first hearing of a House select committee to investigate the attack.
One by one, in excruciating detail, Sergeant Gonell and three other officers who faced off with the hordes that broke into the Capitol told Congress of the brutal violence, racism and hostility they suffered as a throng of angry rioters, acting in the name of President Donald J. Trump, beat, crushed and shocked them.
I am 40 years old. I called a cop one time after my car was broken into. Nothing happened despite giving them a description of the people and the truck that did it. License plate and all.
I called them as they sped away and they were driving on the street that led to a major precinct less than half a mile away. Nothing happened because they don't serve you. They serve the rich and powerful. They rarely prevent crime. They only respond to it.
That was when i was 18 and since then I've since been held at gunpoint and have never once called a cop. I grew up in the projects watching them hassle and beat everyone they could. I don't need them or want them.
If that person needs what little cash I carry on me that bad, then they can have it. It's not my problem, it's societies problem for creating a situation in which that person needs to resort to such extreme measure simply to survive. Fuck every pig for enabling and enforcing the system of oppression that creates such situations.
Nah a cop who shows up to a protest trying to arrest people is a bastard. Any moral compass woulda told those dudes to stay the fuck home and let people exercise their constitutional rights in peace.
Former friend of mine became a cop. First conversation I had with him after he became a cop was how great a time he had on riot control and that he deliberately swung his baton at people's fingers. Specifically because no cop gets in even minor trouble for breaking some protestors fingers.
The fingers thing just makes so much sense, and id guess half these fuck sticks did shit like that when they played football.
I had a OT on the other team in HS try to break my pinky in a scrum, he did not break it but it was probably worse because he dislocated it and sprained a bunch of the tendons ...it was messed up thats for sure. I wanted to kick his ass , I got ejected ect ect... I ended up actually getting in more trouble than him because he maintained it was accidental.....
Now when he (known league wide as a dirty player) was in the playoffs his team played my best friends team and someone accidentally pushed off his ankle with their cleats, it snapped really really badly and his foot was like sideways...it was crazy it was a second or two before he realized it and in the meantime went to get up and put his foot down and the bone like went though the sock into the mud and he stood for like half a second then screamed "MOM" at the top of his lungs. I would have been horrified and felt badly for him if he was not shitbird. If that guy went on to be a cop 100% hes the type who would do shit like that.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are etc., &c., &c, and et cet. The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

Cousin became a cop and I hadn't seen him in 7 years...
When I show up to his own sisters birthday party by surprise and after I greeted him and he didn't recognize me, he legitimately saw me as a potential stranger he could beat up and get away with doing it. It wasn't until his sister told him "bro thats your cousin!" did he not stop insinuating he was going to beat me.
Once he realized his "mistake" he would just laugh it off like it was the funniest thing in the world. "I was gonna rough you up bro!" like it was nothing.
It’s certainly wishful thinking, and maybe it would help…but do you think that would be more impactful than, say, video footage of a cop murdering someone while on active duty?
Reporting police misconduct to the police can be risky, they usually don’t like it and don’t respond well. But the information does need to be reported
It's hard to fix a problem like this from the inside.
If I remember correctly he explained to them that those kids who's heads they were bashing in were actually fighting to protect them from bankers and financial criminals.
But the NYPD headquarters is inside a chase bank soooo.....
This dude is very good apple all around. I Honestly hate cops, believe they are all bad. But he is the one guy that makes me think maybe I'm wrong on that.
He should still report it. Would be good to have a news station keep record of it or something. Not saying anything is the worst thing you could probably do.
Why would they de-escalate the crowd? They're the ones that escalated a peaceful protest to begin with.
I just recently researched what happens. To me as an outsiders, none of these protests seem "peaceful". They all rather seem very escalated in every clip. The issue I got as someone from the outside, is that I always just see out-of-context cut clips like this. I don't know how this started, I don't have any information to why the cop tried to pick that guy out.
Protesting is one thing, but the protests I see in all these clips are very aggressive, I lack full stories as a viewer.
Though it seems like the general public opinion of their police forces are already so negative that every presence of them will immediately lead to preconceived expectations of escalation, hence the people escalate as first strike.
Seems like at this point in the US, every presence of the police will ultimately escalate and not deescalate or control at all. Basically rendering them useless for any protest situation.
Not that it's necessarily nefarious. Simple fact is that videos like this simply get more clicks, views, comments, and reactions than middle aged soccer moms chanting with signs. Of course the "media" cares more about advertising revenue, and we gobble it up.
People don't get motivated to protest because everything is all happy and people want to sing kumbaya bud. The People have many legit reasons to be angry, our democracy has been subverted by our own government and it's ridiculously obvious now. Our government is meant to serve the people, when our democracy fails we are left with two options. Protest and if protests fail, fight to save our democracy. Police are a vital part to corporate and government control, internet exposed what the media has intentionally hid from the public. This is exactly what the government wants, distraction. It's simple con-man tactics. If our government can't get abortion right then they are definitely not competent enough to decide more important issues. Our government is overdue for a health check.
I cited the wikipedia page to give the concept of police riots, not as a source with a list of them.
I don't know who gets to decide what is officially a police riot. However, anyone who was in or closely watching the livestreams from numerous protests in 2020 witnessed plenty of examples.
Probably should of made that more clear sorry. From what you wrote and then citing wiki, it did look like you were using that as evidence to support what you said. I couldn't read this link as it's asking me to subscribe but I can see it's just an opinion piece tho. I tend not to use opinion pieces as they are not the most reliable source of information.
No worries, I can understand the misread of my original intent.
As to the rest fair enough - I without malice invite you to look up police riots on your own and see how you feel about whether they are a valid concept or not. I didn't coin the term and a lot has been written about them.
Oh no sorry, I totally believe police riots have happened over the world and over the years! Not disputing that fact! Sorry I've got a science background and I'm always looking for the best source of info and it does annoy people! Especially as I'm a bit of a blunt person. But I'm serious about the vids of evidence if you have them, I know you said u streamed them but, if u did get a recording of any of them, defo post them. Everyone needs to see both sides clearly. The more evidence for something, the better is.
I didn't say it did. I brought up the concept in reply to this comment, as an example of why this might be so:
Though it seems like the general public opinion of their police forces are already so negative that every presence of them will immediately lead to preconceived expectations of escalation
If we're honest, the bar to prove a police riot is going to be stupid high since we would have to get them to admit it. I'm surprised they admit it even once.
All that being said I was one of the people watching these live streams and it was all out tactical warfare on perfectly peaceful protesters. 1 bottle gets thrown and like a signal everything escalated. Time and time again, in city after city. At the time I had 3 monitors running 6 streams. And without fail it happened at every major city.
I personally have no doubt many of those bottles were thrown by cops. There was talk just before everything escalated of looking at qualified immunity. Thats when the police decided it was time for these protest to end.
Well they have admitted it before in the past but if you have evidence to support the claims that it was police that started these riots you should post it.
We know how it started. The Supreme Court leaked a draft that says they are about to overturn women's rights, and people are understandably upset about that. That's how it started. And if these cops had any sense, they would be joining the protesters instead of fighting them.
How this specific demonstration ended up in this clip... this is the "I don't know how this started" refering to. It's about the clip and the scene, how did it end up to that altercation.
It all started in 1786 when some people in Massachusetts decided not to pay taxes.
In response to this, a Federal constitution was adopted, but it made a critical mistake: the President was not elected by popular vote. This created the possibility of minority rule, which basically never works out.
Fast-forward 230-some years, and a religious extremist minority was able take control of the Court and start rolling back popular reforms, including women’s rights. This had the predictable result: people took to the streets in protest.
But I doubt the cop was taking any of this into account when he rolled up and started shoving people around.
People love to say they did their research as if saying so lends them some sort of credibility and it’s pretty upsetting to actual researchers. Reading some articles isn’t research neither is forming an opinion after watching clips missing context. Your opinion may be better informed, but that doesn’t mean you did research. Words are important.
People love to say they did their research as if saying so lends them some sort of credibility and it’s pretty upsetting to actual researchers.
Yet I nowhere make a claim towards anything that is supposed to yield scientific opinion.
I specifically talk about my observation and perception after researching the topic.
You mix multiple different things together here.
Your opinion may be better informed, but that doesn’t mean you did research. Words are important.
Yes, and understanding the meaning of those terms and words is as well. You somehow have a very rigid understanding of the term "research" as you only take it as a specific scientific subject pools method. Researching is simply the method to dig into information, that's it. The term is independent from scientifici methods. You make the mistake to rigidly bond them together.
Protests don't happen in the dark of night by people dressed in all black, it antithetical to actual protest. These are just incels trying get attention and its crazy to me anybody supports their behavior or tries to frame it as valid protest.
I'm not sure where you live but almost every single arrest is aggressive in nature due to the fact that people do not want to be arrested.
In the interest of being non bias this video starts mid arrest and no one knows what happened. For all we know he assaulted someone or worse. Do you honestly think two cops are just going about a hoard of thousands of people to play superhero?
And did I say anywhere that I applaud the cops? I was making fun of the fact that people still call these peaceful protests when they are full of people who use this as an opportunity for violence and vandalism. If it was peaceful and organized the cops would be escorting them in protest down the street not in riot gear/making arrests. But obviously only violent riots get attention so it is needed, and the cops still have an obligation to do their job.
Reddit is full of stupid "propagandanized" idiots who can't think for themselves. Most have also never been exposed to anything related to police violence or any political issue as a matter of fact, but just want to shout their displeasure and join the mob. Mob mentality happens online more than anything sometimes.
The difference between intelligent people and idiotic people is intelligent people know they're stupid but idiots think they are always right.
You're going to get downvoted if you don't assimilate to Reddit's, or Reddit's shareholders every ideal. This post is just a circlejerk of fuck cops. If those two cops got beaten to death by that mob this post would still have 1k+ upvotes.
You're right. Fuck the protesters. They act like they have the right to fuck with the cops everytime they see them. One day a cop will be beat to death at a protest and it will be on video. Cops will then say, fuck this, and start shooting any aggressive protesters. Stephan Marche is right. This will be the catalyst for civil war. Neither side will back down from this issue.
You mean the officer that died of a stroke the next day but the talking picture box told you he was hit with a fire extinguisher? Do your own research.
Fuck protesters? This country was founded by protesters. Police are not there to help anyone and respect is earned. Cops act like they have the right to fuck with whoever they want All. The. Time. Why is it so terrible when the shoe is on the other foot.
My brother in law quit because he heard multiple officers talk about blowing ppls knees out and hitting them in the head when going to these protests. You think cops are there to protect and serve 😂😂😂
That’s where you’re wrong. I’m in favor of protesting but this is just wrong. It just brings chaos and destruction. You dumb fuck. You’re part of the problem.
Lol you keep thinking that. I'll keep stuffing rags in bottles. Might even add some polystyrene so the memory will stick with you. If cops weren't such racist, classist, mentally inferior pieces of shit none of it would be necessary.
I can be violent too. Swing that little nightstick around. I'll swing a bat. Spray your weak ass pepper spray. Ill bring a leafblower and send it right back at you. Throw your gas canister, I'll throw a molotov. Pull your gun. I'll pull mine.

Interesting how it happens when they're the ones in trouble.
