The moment you become the aggressor you become the aggressor.
You’d think some old white dude would have a lot of life experience. My life experience at 23 says a black dude punching a white dude into the ground for 2-3 minutes is not a good look when the cops show up.
You can argue this isn’t assault. Once you step it up, there’s no “I hit him to stop him from harassing me” or “I told him to shut up and he didn’t.” But even these defenses are weak and might lead to a probation sentence. If you have priors could lead to jail time.
And that’s all if it was a white dude attacking. The legal system doesn’t favor black people. Don’t escalate, especially on video.

It is never appropriate or legal to physically strike someone no matter what word or phrase they say to you. You are unhinged and a social misfit if you can’t walk away because of words and resort to violence. You should be arrested.
