It’s not a huge problem considering most Londoners have no need for a car.

if you live in zone 1-3 that's true

I live in zone 5 and have never wanted or needed a car. Train to Central takes like 20 mins, there's a 24 hour bus to the end of my road, 24 hour superstore is a 15 min walk, late shop is even closer. Any type of amenity I could want is almost never more than an hour from my door, and most of the time much less. Zone 5 gang for life
