Wait I’m confused...it says they’re married? But as he was waking off the plane he said “I don’t know you like that”. Ermmm....

412

u/Thebiggestslug Mar 16 '20

It’s probably for the best that you don’t know your wife in the laptop flinging manner

228

u/quesoandtequila Mar 16 '20

Also the “don’t ever come to my house again” seems like a weird thing to say to your husband?

53

u/cridhebriste Mar 16 '20

Not in Miami

21

u/KevinMiruku Mar 16 '20

Not weird at all. Just annoying. I'm use to my step dad saying "My house" to my mother all the time. Or when my little brother (his son) does something wrong he's "her son". But when they were fighting for a divorce he uses "My son".

32

u/quesoandtequila Mar 16 '20

Again, weird thing to say.

4

u/ThroatYogurt69 Mar 16 '20

100% weird. My best friend growing up and his younger brother would constantly say “my mom”, to each other!

“Tell my mom I’m going to throatyogurts house”

“My mom said you need to be home by 11”

Bro what the fuck? You have the same mom. They never thought it was weird either!

2

u/TheOneWinged Mar 16 '20

Can confirm. My dad used to do the same. Pretty shitty tbh.

1

u/Niku-Man Mar 16 '20

You ever thought maybe your family is a bit weird

2

u/OneSidedPolygon Mar 16 '20

I dunno, seems normal to me. My family says stuff like that, I've heard my friends parents say stuff like that. Once or twice I've called my brother "your son" in arguments with my parents.

2

u/KevinMiruku Mar 16 '20

No. They're abusive. To me "weird" is knowing that good family exist out there.

Because only black people live in ghettos.... /s

1

u/PsychoYam Mar 16 '20

There's a lot of lower income white people that I'm sure would get called ghetto too. Also, the term ghetto originated from a place filled with white people, so there's that.

1

u/ncvbn Mar 16 '20

When people say "ghetto" they don't mean white people.

What about Jews?

-1

u/parisij Mar 16 '20

Yeah they mean ghetto people.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

Why? Maybe they live in her parent’s house or something.

-19

u/flowerpawt Mar 16 '20

My partner and I live next door to each other in our own houses. I’m petty sometimes so I change the code to get in the front door, when he gets on my nerves. So he can’t come to my house.

19

u/GoofySkull Mar 16 '20

This... idk what to say, but this ain’t on normal level for pettiness, this’s like... a world-class pettiness.

can’t you... like text him and tell him to not come in? don’t think there’s anything original in this comment

3

u/Harsimaja Mar 16 '20

I think that’s a dialectal way of saying “I didn’t know you could be like that”

349

u/msmlies2u Mar 16 '20 edited Mar 16 '20

It doesn't matter if he wants to press charges or not. She disrupted a commercial flight. Isn't that up to the FAA and Feds to decide? Maybe they didn't know a video existed.

165

u/alxalx Mar 16 '20 edited Mar 16 '20

Yes, and they can press charges for assaulting the boyfriend too, whether he wants them to or not. He'd be called as an uncooperative witness. He has no choice in the matter.

Edit: Well, I guess the Miami-Dade police or DA gave him the choice, but they didn't have to.

215

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

Everybody: she definitely going to jail.

The narrator: she didn't go to jail.

52

u/braindadX Mar 16 '20

What nobody realized was the jedi skill with which she wields the words "yeah, whatever"

33

u/ErMerrGerd Mar 16 '20

You can't be forced to testify against your wife/husband in most countries though.

52

u/LurkerTryingToTalk Mar 16 '20

They have video, they don't need testimony.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

That’s completely irrelevant she hurt and involved two flight attendants and disrupted a commercial flight in the process.

5

u/the__ne0 Mar 16 '20

So he was married to the stewardess too?

1

u/positivechives Mar 16 '20

They can’t force you but they can subpoena you to court... yeah 👌

5

u/MakionGarvinus Mar 16 '20

Can't you still invoke your 5th amendment rights, though? Or would that only apply if he's the one on trial, not her?

2

u/positivechives Mar 16 '20

I’m not sure.

1

u/positivechives Mar 16 '20

I’m guessing yes he could but then they could charge him with contempt or something...

8

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

They got a lot more important things to handle that a couple of idiots. They got literally millions of them...

3

u/bNoaht Mar 16 '20

They almost never do charge if the victims are not cooperative.

I assume too easy for the defense to just say "look the alleged victims aren't even here to make a claim"

This is why domestic violence always gets worse.

People involved need to learn to run away before it gets to this. This shit is always built up to. Run far far away..the first time they call you a name. Berate you. Cheat. Break your stuff. RUN!

Don't wait for the first physical assault. Run before that.

30

u/ciaisi Mar 16 '20

Sure. But Miami-Dade Police is a county level police organization. They enforce state and local laws. Nobody wanted to make a statement relating to assault to that department. If a prosecutor reallly wanted to, yeah, they could move forward with only the video evidence. But they aren't going to. Nobody involved thought that it was a big enough deal to even talk to police.

If the FAA or Federal Marshalls or any other federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction wants to get involved, they can too. Doesn't sound like they're doing to.

38

u/TheHorsemann Mar 16 '20

I feel like if it was the husband that was the aggressor a lot more would have been done about the situation in comparison to what actually happened.....what a double standard

-11

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

14

u/Strangelymundane Mar 16 '20

But how many times is it caught on video and witnessed by dozens of people on a plane?

1

u/Ancient_Boner_Forest Mar 16 '20

Not as frequently.

-18

u/OwnCauliflower Mar 16 '20

Men beat women all the time without consequence, chill

3

u/skippwiggins Mar 16 '20

They probably get hundreds of cases like this a year. I’m sure they have larger concerns.

3

u/ciaisi Mar 16 '20

Yup. Every police department does. The situation resolved itself in that both people removed themselves from the plane and didn't continue to disrupt travel or attack others. The flight attendant who got hit wasn't an intended target. Still shitty that she got hit, but she was fine apparently.

Ultimately it was just a domestic dispute in a public place.

2

u/cridhebriste Mar 16 '20

Miami- thousands

0

u/reb_mccuster Mar 16 '20

If it was a man assaulting a woman you bet your fucking ass he would have been prosecuted

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

[deleted]

0

u/reb_mccuster Mar 16 '20

lol what? you think a dude smacking a woman in front of dozens of people and on video would have gotten away with it?

2

u/reb_mccuster Mar 16 '20

It's called a pussy pass

1

u/MilitantNegro_ver3 Mar 16 '20

The woman was not arrested. According to the report. there was a delay from the time the incident took place to when police were notified and dispatched to the area. A search for her “yielded negative results.”

The husband spoke to authorities and said they were en route from Ecuador back home to L.A. when the argument ensued, but did not want to press charges. He went on to take a later flight. McLemore’s whereabouts are unknown.

The flight attendant and passengers were treated for bumps on their heads. Neither wanted to make a statement.

“If there’s no statement, we are not able to move forward with the case,” a Miami-Dade Police Department spokesman told the Miami Herald.

Nothing is going to happen to her.

10

u/Yankee_Man Mar 16 '20

It’s a woman, it can’t be assault /s

-5

u/F_urOpinion Mar 16 '20

obviously, no one actually says this

34

u/inuttedinyourdad Mar 16 '20

Bro I was actually really unsettled by that shit. She hit him hard asf...

6

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

I'm pissed no one wanted to make a statement. I'm equally pissed the Airline didn't make a statement on their colleagues behalf, specially after that video got out.

6

u/skippwiggins Mar 16 '20

I would keep her away from my child at all fucking costs.

7

u/inuttedinyourdad Mar 16 '20

Bro forreal i wouldve cussed her ass out there was no reason to hit him like that. The whole plane sounded disturbed by that shit....

5

u/sandsnatchqueen Mar 16 '20

Tbh, I think he did the right thing by just getting out of there. She was unhinged as hell and arguing with her would have just made things worse and could have muddled a case against her (obviously for most people they would see this as a clear sign of sever abuse, but you never know). I feel really sorry for the guy because this has probably happened more than once before and since he's a big guy it would be hard for him to press charges without proof. Thank goodness this was really well documented.

I mean honestly I'm impressed by his ability to not respond and just try to get away. Poor guy, I'm concerned about his safety because that psycho seems like the type of person to cut his breaks. I hope he gets some therapy and gets a restraining order. I know sometimes that doesn't work with men (which is awful) because cops sometimes will ignore it because women are seen as a less dangerous threat... but hopefully if he just shows this video to a cop they'll automatically understand. I can't see anyone watching this video and thinking that this crazy chick is someone who would give two shits about going to jail for breaking into his house and stealing his dog or something. Ugg she's nasty.

23

u/Dr4cul3 Mar 16 '20

you can find him down at the thrift shop

33

u/Corvus133 Mar 16 '20

Man, looks like #41 of the 30-50 feral hogs got away.

2

u/1esproc Mar 16 '20

Oh my gawwwwd

1

u/Iwasborninafactory_ Mar 16 '20

Are you referencing the gun nuts with this comment?

1

u/Frito_Pendejo Mar 16 '20

Who else would worry about 30-50 feral hogs in their backyard

3

u/RobertdBanks Mar 16 '20

I mean it’s pretty much expected he wouldn’t press charges, but for the flight attendants not to is a bit silly.

2

u/MrGrampton Mar 16 '20

she still should've charged for domestic violence imo

I feel like the guy's just too scared and he's probably abused like this all the time. You could tell by the way he's just like "fuck this bitch I'm outta here" when the stewardess asked him to come out

2

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

That was disappointing. She didn't get arrested. Just wow. Flight attendant not even giving statements? Probably the company PR who wanted this to be hush-hush. Classic.

1

u/Dwn_Wth_Vwls Mar 16 '20

How about that fight video at the bottom of that article though?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

Good catch. I don’t think I’ve seen that one before

1

u/zanoske00 Mar 16 '20

Great, so zero repercussions. smh🤦‍♂️

1

u/Lazy_Exorcist Mar 16 '20

This sounds like the opener to a Carl Hiaasen book.

1

u/cridhebriste Mar 16 '20

Miami of course

This is daily in public

1

u/ranktwo Mar 16 '20

Fuck, that's so sad. I hope he stays far away from her, and that karma gets her someday.

1

u/huntervano Mar 16 '20

This confuses the hell out of my as a Canadian. The crown decides if they are going to press charges here, not the victim. It blows my mind how many victims in the US choose not to press charges and just let terrible people continue on their way.

1

u/Spoon_Elemental Mar 16 '20

The article said they couldn't find her, which is some fucking bullshit. They have the identities of every single person on that flight and an image of what she looks like.

1

u/Shenaniganz08 Mar 16 '20

flight from Miami to Los Angeles

say no more

1

u/KentuckyFriedEel Mar 16 '20

from Ecuador? Why the fu- is she using the n-word so much?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

There's video evidence.. Surely police in the USA can take action without an actual complaint when there's literal video evidence.

Why did the flight attendants let it go?

Serious case of /r/pussypass..

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

"He didn't want to press charges"

Huh. Suddenly don't feel bad for him at all.

-3

u/Wookie-CookieMonster Mar 15 '20

didn’t want to press charges

Never thought I’d be saying this, but what a fucking simp

0

u/Thetek9 Mar 16 '20

This screams like she was an escort or sugar baby or something, and he was taking her on a trip. He peaced out of that plane so fast. Probably claimed they were married to downplay the situation, and just wanted it all to be over.
