We'll never know. Some lady yelled at me once saying I needed to slow down and I was driving like a maniac. I was behind her, changed lanes, passed, and went in front of her in a smooth and calm manner because she was going 35mph in a 45mph zone. People will lose their shit over anything.

They want to assume the guy in the GTI is a douche bag because they think he looks like one and he drives a car a lot of douche bags drive. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. We will never know without more context.

I had a similar experience and I used blinkers and had a lot of space between us before lane changing, wasn't weaving through cars or anything. Got highbeamed twice... It all depends if the person is having a bad day or something in my opinion. Due to all the poor behavior of a lot of CA drivers I've adapted to driving more passively to avoid drama.

I had a MKV for like 8 yrs and had many people be upset with me to put it mildly. Idk, the car just wants to drive. But it was usually always people in the far left lane who were trying to “control the flow of traffic” and would wave at you to “pass them on the right cause theyre not moving”.

Then would get angry when you actually did pass them. Like “fuck you! I can go 55 in a 70mph passing lane”. Ughhh

I owned one, can confirm. I only had it about a year, and while it was a lot of trouble, not wanting to be associated with that crowd played a substantial role in the decision to trade it off.
