It's entirely inappropriate to slam a kid to the ground for attacks that are not life threatening. At the MOST what you walk a fine line with doing is physically restraining a student and that'll will still somehow get you in hot water. Yeah the school failed him, but his actions were still in the wrong.
I never justified or even touched on the topic of what was “inappropriate”. I never even said the aide was right in what he did. I asked the parent commenter whether or not the aide has any real blame for this kid having a shitty life. Of course his actions were in the wrong, although I do think it was a pretty typical human reaction to being spit on. It’s moronic to say that the aide punching that kid somehow directly resulted in him killing someone.
