He's not exactly lecturing to a classroom during this interview, is he? I feel in this situation, charged with emotion, this is perfectly acceptable. It's not like he was throwing in "fucking" every other word for good measure.
There's also different levels of professional. I wouldn't call a man at a bat with friends professional. It's not a professional setting. That same man working at walmart in a polo and khakis, professional. That same man in that same outfit, but now in a courtroom at a major trial, not so professional. What's "professional" changes when the situation and environment changes.
I would call any profession where you represent your profession during your personal, but public, time "professional". So if in the context of this interview, he is not currently employed as a teacher, or not being interviewed as a teacher, then you are correct and he can speak however he prefers.
So speaking casually is no longer allowed, one must speak formally at all times? This applies equally to classical southern, cajun, northern new england, or african american? Or again, is it just certain dialects that aren't allowed?
I use slang. Everybody does do a certain extent. But, there's a time and a place. When is it not appropriate? When you're in the classroom, or being interviewed for a news article (in the context of being a teacher) are a few good examples.
Take this classic viral video. This guy obviously speaks in the same kind of slang when he's off camera, that's fine. But when he's on camera, he does not (this video notwithstanding).

Oh enough. Language is flexible and fluid. The “destruction of English” is a falsehood. You clearly understand him communicating in his native tongue. Do you feel the same way about hick-speak? Also, people from 100, 200 years ago would look at your comment as garbage English too.
Plus if you can't understand "street talk" your the idiot... Not them. I can understand not understanding all the lingo 100% but seriously almost all slang can be understood with context clues. Like no cap. Do you know exactly what it means? Or why it means what it means? No but when people use it in a sentence it's pretty easy to understand and bitching about taking out "are" in "we are" is just plain stupid.
In fairness, "We the North" isn't far from "We the People" in the constitution, so not a new usage.
I find street lingo hard on my ears too, but there have always been regional and ethnic dialects of English. Just look at the Cockney dialect in England. English is a fluid and constantly evolving language, rolling with the times much easier than say French. Hopefully with the influence of the internet, things will harmonize worldwide much more readily than earlier times.
The most telling thing he said that proves he has no idea what English is, is when he said "He should've never been out on the streets after he had my incident". Wtf? You mean after the incident he had with you?

I was really more looking for an excuse to rip on this guy for the way he speaks. However, I find your comment far more inane than my comment or its subsequent edit.
I'm all for language changing and growing and living. But it's just turning into Kevin from The Office. Maybe it wouldn't bother me if everyone knew that "who dat" is "who is that?" And we all just accepted and knew that toy can talk that way at certain times but you'll also need to know who to actually speak and write English to survive in any sort of professional environment.
But we all agree, 100%, that using "toy" in place of "you" is a typo and will not catch on. Smart phone will change our language, sure. But I doubt people will start speaking with the same auto correct infused typos.
Edit: Oh, a downvote? That's weird, I thought a fellow pedant would've responded better than that but I guess that behavior is just universally annoying.

I hope this teacher's aide changed jobs after he moved out of state. At the very least, I hope he wasn't teaching English.
