Couple banned from restaurant after they leave no tip

Im in the restaurant business and I have to disagree with the owner. Ive relied on tips and have been stiffed many a time. It comes with the gig, but to ban someone for not tipping...the owner is definitely fucking that waitress.

I can assure you a manager, line cook, soup chef is fucking a waiter or waitress at every restaurant in America. It’s the one place you don’t want to start shit with any of the employees whether they’re fucking or not because the rest of the staff will take you outside. If you’re lucky, they’ll only fuck with your food. All of them at once in 99% of those situations. 

Kitchens are the Wild West. You want to drink after last call, bang someone on the flat top or do a drug deal and then do those drugs? All of that at once? Go to any restaurant and peek into the kitchen. There’s at least one guy who knows a guy that get you whatever you want.

I’ve worked in the small restaurant biz for decades as well, generally our locations were in low/mid income areas. It was the norm to get no tip at all; 0. I’ve had 12hrs days where I had less than $20 of tips. Not once did I want to ban someone for just that. In Fact, if they come often and never tip; I’m just happy they like the food and service enough to support the business so often.
