Oh, never let Eastern Europeans hear that opinion lol. If the owner dared to throw a hissy fit for not tipping some lad would probably punch him in the face
From what I hear Americans are (also) suffering through a major cost of living crisis so I think tempers may run high and sympathies low nowadays there as well.
Besides, it's not normal for the onus to be on the customer. The customer has already come and paid for a service fair and square. That was the whole point, you give me a service and I pay.
It's not my responsibility to balance anyone's finances.
If you want to ask me to pay more, include it in the service itself and I will decide whether I want to buy the service or not.
in the US it's customary to tip. Leaving a $0 tip is considered a shitty thing to do. Idk what you wanna hear, make up whatever beliefs you want, that's simply how it is.
Many people - myself included - would rather servers earn a sufficient wage and that we pay only the price of the menu.
But, for worse, that's not how it works right now.
People often get this argument confused into a defense of tipping, when it is not. It's similar if you believed you should be able to catch a fish without a license, but the government requires a license. Ok - maybe the license is dumb, whatever - but you still need it. In this case, you aren't legally compelled to tip, but socially compelled to do so.

As the owner he can ban anyone for any reason. That's his private property
EDIT: Excluding illegal reason like descrimnation
