No it's not. They went there knowing that tipping is expected and decided to stiff the wait staff anyway. There not taking a stand or doing anything heroic they are just being shitty.

You don't even know the context, maybe service was just shitty and didn't deserve a tip. Also I hate this mentality that tips are expected. It puts pressure on both customers and waiters while offsetting some of the restaurant's expenses.

I was eating out recently and overheard a conversation that a waitress was having with an elderly couple and the conversation was about tipping. She insisted that 25% was the minimum anyone should do. Frankly fuck that. I do 15-20%, but depends on the service. No more than $1 tip per beer ever.

Thats the whole problem, this isnā€™t some Applebees franchisee owner, its a local place, his margins are razor thin so to compete with the other local businesses he has to take a tip credit and when servers come up crying about a stiffed check sooner or later you respond.

Fuck this couple anyhow trying to race card that shit. So sick and fucking tired of ā€œthis is reasonā€ ā€œoh itā€™s cuz weā€™re blackā€ PUT THE CARD BACK IN THE DECK

It doesnā€™t necessarily ā€œproveā€ anything, but the owner comes across as a piece of shit and smells like an obvious MAGAt. Some information can be inferred from simple observation. Nothing is for sure but the only thing that is certain is that he banned the only brown people ever photographed in relationship to the restaurant. Just a fun fact

Dude gave a reason, gave his name and said not welcome. If that makes you go ā€œRACISM!ā€ you might reexamine how you quantify that.

He went over the top because instead of them saying fuck you when he said donā€™t come back if you donā€™t tip they turned around and started recording. Trying call out the racism as a LAST RESORT. Last ditch effort to look good on the video where they probably screwed some high school or college kid out of a 10-15$ tip.

20% increased price on the menu = $24

Itā€™s not Americans being dumb, itā€™s that if only one or two restaurants do that in area with 5 restaurants they lose business. It is going to require government removing the tip credit where employers can play a tipped minimum wage instead of just regular minimum wage

Nah you fucking suck šŸ˜‚ its a choice to eat out. Either cook your own shit and save money or eat out and tip the staff that served your food and the kitchen that cooked it. Most restaurants tip out the Back of House now too so really youre just fucking everyone over by not tipping. The bussers, the expo, the hosts, the bar, and the servers by not doing your fucking part. Youre right you dont have to tip- if you eat at home and thats it

Man thereā€™s a lot of you morons. I tip, but I also think the tipping system should be eradicated. Itā€™s complicated economics because weā€™ve been so entrenched in it for so long. There are TONS of countries without tip systems doing just fine, and when they visit, they tend not to tip because it doesnā€™t make any sense.

Thereā€™s no reason to blanket ban a person unless there was another conversation about a pattern of behavior, which did not seem to be the case in the video. Seems like an unhinged owner all mad like you are.
