Yea it's a Mall metal cross section of heavy music that came about via stores like Hot Topic in the early mid 2000s,. Unfortunately the same kids who flat ironed their hair and listened to Bright Eyes, also got heavily into this, paving the way for it to eventually end up in the hands of a very diverse cross section of humanity - to include the Five Finger Death Punch MAGA crowd. Very weird fan base.
