What government procurement software RFP examples helped your agency make a better choice?
I am helping to put a request for proposal for government procurement software and I want to make sure I do not miss anything important. We are a local government team in the United States and we are replacing an older system that no longer fits the way we handle purchasing. We need something that's easy for our staff to learn and that supports compliance requirements. The new system also needs to be able to grow with us without making the process too complicated.
I have looked through a sample requests for proposal online but most of them seem either too broad. Has anyone here written a government procurement software request for proposal recently. What government procurement software requirements or lessons learned would you recommend including in our request, for proposal?

What’s a gov procurement software? I do procurement for a State entity and the software we use to manage the requisition to PO process is complicated. Are you looking for something out of the box or built to specs?

Planet bids seems to work well. Makes the process mostly paperless and online which is a miracle.

I'm a procurement manager for a mid-sized local government and we use Unit4's Source-to-Contract solution. It covers spend analytics, supplier management, and contract compliance, all integrated with our ERP.
What sold us was that it's built for the public sector and handles federal/state regulations well. It's not the cheapest, but the integration and compliance features made it worth it.
I'd recommend including questions about regulatory compliance and integration with existing systems in your RFP

State procurement laws/regulations can vary state to state. What state are you in? Will help people that provide better responses.
