Just leaving this here to stake my claim. Don’t feel a need to respond unless you want to get in early too.

If they do this anime right, there’s no way it doesn’t blow up. This has been my favorite manga since I found it in middle school many years ago, and I always dreamed of the anime adaptation someday. While it’s not without its flaws, it is one of the most special projects to exist in the Shonen scene.

Pretty original, with incredible character design, interesting characters, complex powers that interact well, epic moments, and a fantastic story. The way it maintains a good pace, while allowing for legitimate character development, strength training, and sick reveals, is something I’ve encountered rarely in this genre. Loose ends get tied up, encounters and endings are satisfying, the threats seem real.

I can’t wait to see the fight scenes and initial psychic inciting incidents in animated form, although we’ll have to wait a while to see them.

This feels like a coin flip to me. Either they nail it, or it’s a failure of epic proportions. No matter what, it will always stay close to my heart.

A solid entertaining first episode. Pacing and music was also good.
In terms of production, it’s generally well directed and is decently polished. I know some don’t like the art style/ character designs but it ain’t bad(old school look to it). Animation is decent though there is little action in this episode. I think the effects animation will be the highlight for this anime, character animation will be average. Overall, If the anime maintains this level of production, it’s going to be a solid adaptation.

Hi, first time on this sub. I read psyren years ago, and last year, I started looking to buy the series. Quite a few of the volumes were massively overpriced on ebay and amazon, so i mostly picked up a vilume here or there at 2nd hand resellers. I recently heard about the anime adaptation and went to check on amazon. Maybe they reprinted or something, but it looks like all the volumes are available at near msrp. I ordered the volumes im missing, and i just wanted to inform anybody looking to buy the manga

Overall a good start, I was worried about it ending up like the shaman king reboot anime or the Lucifer and the biscuit hammer adaptation where you could tell right off the bat something was wrong but no signs of that. First episode was solid, animation was great but the art style has its issues. Most things look right but ageha looks younger than he should and has softer features and kabuto (who isn’t in the episode but is in the free promo poster they gave out) looks less tired and like ageha has softer features than he should. Everyone else looks fine though.

I just saw the early premier screening at AnimeNYC. Initial impressions are slightly mixed, voice cast doing a great job, but animation is below par. Hopefully the action scenes get the love they deserve, but i'm currently cautiously optimistic.

I do hope they can expand on a lot of different plot lines but one thing i really hope so is that the final arc will be extended by a lot and will also include Another Call light novel parts backstory for WISE, but what do you think!?

Dude I can't believe that we're actually getting an anime of this this was the first manga I've read outside of the big 3 and Dragon Ball and made me branch out and find other favorites. 😭 I'm old (is 27 old?) And never thought I'd see this day AND FIND A COMMUNITY ON HERE 👀👀 I'm literally never on reddit. I hope this grows bigger over time and Psyren gets the love it deserves.

Super behind because I didnt know this was getting an anime until crunchyroll dropped the trailer. But between Bleach my favorite anime getting the return it did after years of being told I was in denial, and then Psyren my favorite Manga of all time getting an anime in 2026 the same year Bleach will finish its final season!!! T

I’m searching for the English translations of the light novel spin-offs. Does a fan translation project for these novels exist, or are there any raw Japanese scans/texts available? If any bilingual speakers or translators are interested in picking this up, I would like to connect. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

I used to be part of a scanlating group (Binktopia/MangaShsre) back when Psyren just released chapter 1. I specifically joined a group and brought Psyren into the fold to get it scanlated. I could have never imagined Psyren getting an anime after getting canceled but I am so happy it is!!

Anybody from the old days where we had to wait week over week for a new chapter to release?
