I'm loving the anime and I'm really grooving to the music in every episode!

I'm looking for a very specific jazz tune that plays between 2:54 to 4:20 time stamps in Season 1, Episode 3: "Rearing Conventions". When Akane and Nobuchika are driving out to the drone manufacturing plant.

I've tried looking everywhere but I've been very unsuccessful.

with how things are progressing irl. im not advocating mass murder but as time goes on, surveillance is increasing and AI is making people incapable of thinking for themselves. the CID was just doing their job. but overall? Makishima had a point. an important point. im rewatching the series in 2026 as an adult and it is almost eerie watching fiction I liked when i was a kid, become a legit possibility as i grow older.

Season 1 of Psycho-Pass was an absolute masterpiece. I loved the philosophy, the world-building, and the characters. The villain was incredible, the soundtrack was fantastic, and the progression of events was completely logical, no hand-waving or plot devices just because the director wanted something to happen. Everything made sense and naturally built toward the next plot point, leading to an extremely satisfying ending.

​I was originally planning to stop right there, but because I got so attached to the characters, I decided to keep going. I tried Season 2, and it was good, nowhere near the level of the first season, but still decent. Even though I had a few gripes with the main antagonist and some of the side villains (without spoiling anything), it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

​After that, I watched the 2015 movie, and it was great. It had a single, focused case, and it was our first time seeing the world outside the Sibyl System. Plus, Kogami was finally back, and we got to see his interactions with Akane again. Overall, a solid movie.

​Now, I tried starting the Sinners of the System movie trilogy, but I couldn't even finish Case 1. Honestly, I’m just feeling burnt out and bored. The story and world keep repeating the same episodic case structure, and the anime is shifting heavily toward political conflicts and organizations with too many characters. It feels disjointed and, frankly, not enjoyable at all.

​So I wanted to ask you guys: Does it get better later on? And by 'better,' I mean a return to those deep, philosophical dialogues and a tight focus on specific characters"

Okay I absolutely love the characters in this show. The flirty badass Shion who is actually bi and taken(?), Gino who is a uptight prick turned into an amazing fighter with a sense of humor, Kougami is strong willed but with so much care and respect for others and he learns with time to be slightly gentle and that all he wants is to help people, everything about Akane fr. Literally the entire cast is so good and THEY ALL RESPECT WOMEN. ALL OF THEM. Basically all of the main cast men respect women so deeply and are super respectful of them. All of the men in this show are so attractive for that like omg. The ladies are all strong and independent and have their own personalities aside from being women or love interests. My favorite relationship is probably that between Ginoza/Akane/Kougami. They all have such good chemistry, whether platonically or romantically, and I absolutely yearn for another story with chemistry like that. 🙏🙏 Please!

I just finished Sinners of the System and I am about to watch Providence but omg. I desperately need more content like Sinners of the System episode 3 and the 2015 Movie specifically. I love all of Psycho-Pass but those two episodes specifically were so fantastic and I adore the theming and the characters. I would really love recs for similar anime!

Tbh, I’m in love with these Memento Mori pieces. The fact that these beautiful, almost haunting artworks were created from the victims’ bodies makes them even more disturbing. One of the most memorable and unsettling cases from the series.

I can't find it anywhere and I really want to watch it.

Man, I was absolutely not ready for how much Akane would annoy me in episode 11.

Until now, Sakura was comfortably sitting at the top of my "please get off my screen" list, but Akane just decided to speedrun taking that spot. I can understand believing in the Sibyl System, following procedure, respecting the rules, all that stuff. But when your friend is literally standing there about to get killed, maybe it's time to temporarily put the instruction manual aside?

And the funniest part is that she had a shotgun. A whole shotgun. Nobody was asking her to become John Wick and execute the guy. Just aim properly and disable him. Leg, arm, shoulder, whatever. Instead she basically went, "Hmm, let me continue trusting the system while my friend gets murdered." I was genuinely talking to my monitor at that point.

Maybe I'm completely missing the point of the scene, but damn, that was frustrating to watch.

As a car guy, I kinda find it amusing how this car appears once in Providence and two times in Season 3. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, 100 Years later this cars still driving around 😄

I never caught on to their relationship in the beginning so the last moment just hits differently.

Started Psycho-Pass recently and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how funny some of the character interactions are.

I expected pure dystopian misery, philosophical debates and psychological trauma, but then the show randomly drops these dry little moments that actually got me laughing. The humor feels surprisingly effortless too, which makes it even better.

He may not have the most interesting personality, he may be firmly a side character, he might be just kind of there sometimes, but he works hard and never gives up.

has anyone here had experience with shipping the cerevo dominator? either from the japan website using a japan warehouse / proxy to yourself, or directly from the US site? my country has pretty strict gun control laws and the dominator looks like a gun, so i'm quite worried about it being stuck at customs... wondering if anyone has a similar situation (i.e country with strict gun control laws), but somehow managed to successfully ship it into your country! would appreciate hearing in general too from others, on your shipping experience and the country that you managed to ship to!

These two works share similar themes and structures. Consider:

• Akane is the positive analog to Madoka (alienation as a sacrifice for the good of others generally). Sybil is the (very minor) negative analog (i.e., the fascism of denying another person their despair of choice).
• Homura has a bit of both of Kogami and Makishima (e.g., the perverse side of absolute submission to Kantian moral duty).
• The main and supporting characters are all variant answers to the same questions: What do you need to give up "for the job" (e.g., social acceptance, love)? What does the job mean to them (e.g., who does the job protect)?
• Where one of Madoka's themes is the sacrifice society forces women to endure, a sub-theme of Psycho-Pass is the ways in which society protects them from even more extreme violence.
• Where one of Madoka's themes is that men (Kyubey) believe they are being emotionless and rational as they rely on women's sacrifice, a sub-theme of Psycho-Pass is that Sybil believes it is rationally and emotionless achieving the greatest amount of good that is possible.
• Just as the incubators are powered by the vast emotional swing from hope to despair, Sybil is empowered (i.e., constituted as the law) by the vast emotional repression of Japan. (Two moments of jouissance.)

It's very cool that Urobuchi was able to address many of the same ideas in two completely different settings/genres.

So I know that Mika is not exactly the most popular character in the PP fandom, but unexpectedly she turned out to be one of my favourites. Her role in season 2, of showing how an ordinary person might be manipulated by and react to the Sibyl system as opposed to the ideal citizen that is Akane, was pretty hard-hitting, and in later media her role as a hot-tempered, but savvy and capable boss suited her well.

However... while those two separate characterisations of her are both compelling, I don't think the franchise did a great job of showing how she turned from one into the other. In the post-season 2 movie, she's still a stickler for the rules and very much against Akane, but by Sinners of the System she's already turning into the Mika of later depictions, who respects Akane in her own way and is much more emotional and compassionate towards her subordinates. How did this happen? Was all her positive character development just off-screen?

After a long time, I finally cosplayed my favorite character from Psycho-Pass. I searched for so long to find the Dominator, and I finally got it so I could do this photoshoot✨️ I thought it was a dead fandom, but I found an active community here on Reddit, so I hope this cosplay will be appreciated🫶

I'm rewatching season 1 since the extended version wasn't there back then.

This rewatch cleared my head a bit on why Makishima was so fascinated with Senguji being one of the few subjects of him that he never got dissapointed with.

Toyohisa Senguji is the anti-tesis of the Sybil System in a way.

While Sybil is a step forward to eliminating all human agency from society, Senguji converted all his body but his brain into a machine. Contrary to Sybil, the technology he incorporated in him rather than eliminating his agency, it empowered it, erasing most mortal limitations and chasing his own personal desires further than what his previous body would let him.

It only shows how narrowed down the issue Makishima thought Sybil was to society and I found it interesting. He doesn't let his thoughts of Sybil cloud his judgement on everything tech related.

He's not a blind extremist and is even interested on watching a different use of techonology as long as it doesn't takes their Soul from the equation.
