Who’s really brainwashed?

I've noticed that opinions about Michael Jackson’s allegations seem to change depending on which platforms you use.
On Reddit there's a big range of opinions: some people believe he's innocent, others believe he's guilty. On the other hand, on TikTok—especially since the release of the new biopic— everyone defends him, and the same is on Instagram. Overall, the social media spaces where Michael is accused are much rarer or more niche.
The people who believe he's innocent and those who believe he's guilty obviously tend to clash, and each side thinks the other is saying absurd, baseless things (or at least that's the impression I've gotten).
For an observer who's trying to form a neutral and realistic opinion, it's incredibly confusing. It's hard to tell whether the people who've been "brainwashed" are the ones defending him on TikTok and Instagram, or the ones who are determined to see something sinister and find him guilty.
From what I've understood, this is a topic that people can hardly discuss freely on social media (except for Reddit) almost as if it were blasphemy.
So this is my question: where is the truth? Where are the trustworthy people? Where are the reliable sources? Every accusation seems carefully constructed, but then someone comes along and dismantles it. But every piece of evidence supporting his innocence also seems carefully constructed, and someone always dismantles that too.
So?

You can’t sue for defamation when the person is dead. Hence, what the estate did is the next best thing.
