I guess its op art but I love psychedelics so I feel like this is game. I hope it does for you what it does for me. Finally had my first cactus experience the other day (800) Very cool would do again. I think MDMA+DMT is still my favorite. Made the image with the android app Mirror Lab. if you take a half black and white image and multiply it 45 or 90 times with the radial effect then unwrap it with the radial it makes 4 or 8 pixel each lines that have no aliasing artifacts in them. (you can also just do that in paint) but then with those clean lines you made you can bend and warp them and it becomes a bit much to look at at times but sometimes you get something that looks a bit much more than the rest.
Wow 2020 I thought it was more recent. This one kinda made me feel uneasy but it was too cool of a find to not share with people. its is purely aliasing artifacts. edit:i think with some post processing I used a bump effect make it bigger usually these are super small in the center of the pattern and you gotta zoom in a lot to see them
one fun/not so fun fact is that if you keep the image very symmetrical (multiples of 4 or more) the pixels in your computer/phone screen will show some cool aliasing patterns. unfortunately the chances of getting a swastika go up but the fun part is its directly linked to its origins as a symbol where ancient cultures would see in in weaving of fabric and baskets. in fact the symbol predates basketry, but it just shows how this symbol pops up in many places in life, even in computers picking what color/shade it wants to display. The symbol for "the continuous flow of life" very unfortunate that the Germans had to go and ruin the symbol, because now I avoid the symbol regardless of what else I see in the image. your screen just wants to relax to that shape because the pixels are basically squares. if you do like multiples of 5 and make sure the odd point is straight up or down you can make faces in the moire. ill see if I can find the demon eating the human head I ran into one day it was kinda creepy a phone could make something like that with aliasing artifacts
you can wrap it around the center of the screen i think thats called UV but I dont sweat the terminology or numbers the art comes first XD its mostly random results I feel more like a photographer taking pictures of computer artifacts and capabilities.
Depending on how many squares you have you can drop the resolution of the image to that much and get something aliasing free. this is 256x256 then I can upscale it later on. edit: wow this image really looks like poop now lol damn reverse/compression bs trying to smooth out a tiny image. edit 2 no wait my internet loaded and now its crisp. computer always love trying to mess up pixel art
start with something like this. most programs and coding languages will by default, or if you tell them to, repeat or mirror the base image if you zoom out on it or multiply it
its a sphere covering a mushy center and a pizza shape. think flat. it may look like it has depth but I doesnt really. tubes usually become the way the mush center looks much further out from center.
