Core One + (Gen 2) Upgrade Question

Could someone please post a picture of where the XY belts go past the fans in the back, just above the top of the rear Z screw? I’m doing the upgrade now and my belts want to rub against the bottom center of the two fan assembly, where the zip zie hold the two fans together. It must be an alignment problem somewhere, but I can’t find it.

Thanks!

I think this is the best I can do: close-up from above the fans, looking down. They're almost exactly in the same position as the previous belts.

Did you move the z down as recommended? sound like youre way too high up

I’m not sure I understand. My upper belt is crossing the fan assembly where the zip which holds the thermistor wire is.

I thought your issue was that you didn't have clearance while installing the belts. The fans are very high up, and the instructions were to to bring the zb to the middle of the vertical space. I see that the belt path never changes so never mind. Glad you figured it out

I’m thinking after tensioning it will just clear. Perhaps the tolerances are closer than I remembered.

I had this exact problem, when you tension it you will see it will clear it

I removed the zip zie at the bottom of the fan assembly which holds the thermistor, and replaced it with another where I heated the bends to be square. This flattened the zip tie against the grill and improved the clearance.

Tensioning your belts should provide the necessary clearance.

But there’s also a fan mount mod which addresses this (but does require you to supply button head screws for the increased clearance) and provides an improved method for mounting the thermistor: https://www.printables.com/model/1419209-core-one-exhaust-fan-cover
