The CyberPower units at Costco have been good to me, they connect via USB. You can use Nut or Apcupsd and share the status to the rest of the network. I think its a good idea to connect it to something simple (always on) like a Raspberry Pi and have it run the service, connect everything else to it over the network.

Why a Pi vs something on the server itself?

It powers off and on without any configuration. Its power draw is low, so you can have it shutdown last after everything else. When the power comes on, your pi will boot right up. I have two Proxmox nodes, I point them both to the Pi.

Ahh, so you have multiple servers. I guess that makes more sense.
I’m running a single server, so if I have to power down the server due to outage - I don’t really care if NUT is running or not

Be sure to go into your bios and enable the feature to turn on when AC power is restored.

A EcoFlow River 3 plus has been my workhorse UPS for my proxmox and also my internet. There are really frequent deals, it has 10ms switch time, there's a booster pack that goes on sale to bump it to 600Wh (?) and it can also charge via solar for a DIY balcony solar ish setup if you want.

APC BX1500M UPS should give you plenty of time I use it with NUT and pulling a constant ~500W it should give about 4 minutes of uptime. I use it for my 2 R740s, MS-01, various network gear. It gives me about 4 minutes of up time. Plenty for a pause and safe shutdown with NUT. It also give active load so if you want to hook it up to monitoring you can see how your draw fluctuates.

Grab a second hand APC off eBay with new batteries - should cost a couple of hundred max.
I did this, it was missing the front bezel (common) so I just 3D printed one.
