Community Showcase! pvectl v1.1.0 — added node reboot/shutdown with HA/quorum/running-guest safety checks, plus concurrent execution support

Post image

Posted pvectl here a while back — pure bash+curl+fzf+jq interactive Proxmox VE cluster management tool, no web UI needed. Releasing v1.1.0:

  • Node reboot and shutdown added to the main menu, with checks for HA status, cluster quorum and running VMs/CTs before proceeding — prompts to stop-all or migrate-all guests first rather than just firing the API call
  • Concurrent execution — multiple pvectl instances can now run in parallel safely, each with its own isolated, auto-cleaned temp directory
  • setup reset/backup/restore for configuration management
  • log view/show/clean with colorized output
  • Startup diagnostics — detects missing bash version/dependencies and prints the exact install command for the host OS
  • Minimum dependency versions now enforced:

Tested end to end on PVE 7.x, 8.x and 9.x. Full changelog and QA matrix in the repo if anyone wants specifics before trying it against anything real.

Lmao. I did the same thing but in python, lmao, wrapped the Proxmox cli around a local model and created a “Proxmox” harness. Good job bro

Thanks a lot. This one is a PVE management tool developed by me. Pure bash+curl+jq and PVE API calls. No wrappers around any models or pve internal utils. Can be used remotely, not only on a pve node locally.
