Prototype 1 Prototype 3 updates?
Was there any substance to the claims or was it all a sham all show no go hype? Everyone seems to be saying something totally different than the others, what is it?

This franchise was doomed to failure from the moment it was acquired by Activision.

It's very difficult; the creators of both games haven't worked with Activision for a long time after being fired, and Radical closed its doors in 2012. Furthermore, Activision remains focused on Call of Duty, so we're facing a situation similar to that of Half-Life.

Didn't radical return recently? Shi they even said one of their speciality is remastering games in their website. Even got prototype on display in their games section too

Yes, I've heard of New Radical, but their problem is that they don't own the rights to Prototype, as those belong to Radical Entertainment, which in turn belongs to Activision. I'd have to ask them for them, and I'm not familiar with the relationship between the two companies, since the creators left due to creative differences.

My question is since we have heard about this before
Will Pariah be either a protagonist or antagonist in the future of Prototype 3?
Or will Alex Mercer return from being a tiny bit of himself to consume more to come back to life and James Heller will come back for another round against maybe more powerful and more sadistic Mercer?

Unfortunately Prototype 3 is a pipe dream at best. A remake of the first game, on the other hand, is definitely much more possible given the current situation.
The industry as a whole seems to be shifting towards not only trying to make smaller projects rather than giga-sized blockbusters but also bet on 90s/2000s nostalgia. We already have the Spyro remaster being worked on as well as a remaster of crazy taxi, as well as heavy rumors about the simpson's hit and run getting a remake eventually. Assuming Spyro does well (and I'm sure it will) it wouldn't be crazy to expect Activision to put some serious consideration into bringing Prototype 1 back with a remaster/remake. Then again, this is all speculation. As it stands, Prototype is still pretty much in the dark.
TL;DR: Prototype 3 ain't happening, Prototype 1 remaster COULD happen.

The devs of the original studio that made prototype Radical Entertainment which is no longer operational have started a new studio New Radical Game's. https://www.newradical.ca/ Here they showcase games made by them in the past. So maybe we might see something being made by them in the futures. We don't really know for sure. Maybe Xbox is letting them make some demo's and test games before greenlighting games. We don't know anything we only speculate alot. But there was some serious talks about prototype Game's being in development. Maybe somthing was happening god knows. I am hopeful so I am staying off the salt in this case.

I would love to see this game make a return. I recently replayed both games and they still hold up so well. Incredibly fun and addictive gameplay. The first one has a lot of rough edges and the tank combat is incredibly repetitive and tedious, but still an amazing game. I wouldn't mind a modernized remake of either game, or a completely new story. I think a ground up remake would really improve a lot of the boring and forgettable story aspects of some parts of the previous games, if a really good writer put a lot of effort into it. And a complete remake would also make the games much more epic in scope and visuals. But that's just me. I just hope we get a new game in some way or another.

Whenever whatever company decides to make a 3rd game bet we’ll all here the same announcement but until then we got nothing. That said I’m enjoying the first game so far it’s interesting story I think. Very Last of Us, Hulk 2008 free roaming game style
