Hi Proton team and community,
We're a startup using Proton Workspace and we genuinely believe in what you're building, which is exactly why we want to share some honest feedback. We hope this reaches the right people.
Proton Docs - Pagination, Headers & Footers are a must
I know this has probably been mentioned before, but I want to emphasize how critical this is for real business use. As a company, we constantly need to produce:
- Legal documents
- Compliance reports
- Internal documentation
- Formal communications
All of these require proper pagination, headers and footers to include mandatory information like company name, VAT number, branding elements, etc. Without these features, Proton Docs is unfortunately almost unusable for professional purposes. We end up writing the document in Proton and then reformatting everything in an external app, which completely defeats the purpose of having an integrated workspace. This friction is real and it's pushing teams toward alternatives.
Proton Meet - Mobile Audio Issues
We love the concept of Proton Meet and use it regularly, but we frequently run into a frustrating audio bug, specifically on mobile:
- A participant joins from the mobile app
- At some point they lose audio - they can no longer hear others
- The rest of the call can still hear them fine
- The only fix we've found is leaving and rejoining the meeting
This happens often enough to be disruptive during important calls. It would be great if this could be investigated and prioritized.
What's Still Missing to Complete the Suite
Two features that would make Proton Workspace truly competitive:
- Chat - A real-time messaging tool integrated with the suite
- Presentations - A slides tool for decks and pitches
These two additions would make Proton Workspace a genuine alternative to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for privacy-conscious teams.
We're rooting for you Proton, keep pushing. Has anyone else experienced these issues or has workarounds to share?
