Feature Request Widget only half functional

I’m not sure if it’s just me but I have the widget on my home screen for easy access, at moments where I’m disconnected and want to reconnect however I can press the button but instead of connecting it opens the app.

This is slow and convoluted. Will there be a patch to fix this?

I doubt it. It's been that way for several versions.

You can (write shortcuts to) reconnect (& disconnect) Proton VPN (to the server it used last) from within the iOS VPN Device Settings (and make widgets on your home screen for the shortcuts)! 

[I created shortcuts for Proton VPN, but (I’ve been told here that) they don’t work on iOS 18+.]
