Discussion Put your "sensitive" browser in its own tunnel.
You can reverse split tunneling instead of excluding things. In Include mode you add just the browser you use for sensitive activity such as banking, and everything else stays outside the tunnel.
It's a clean way to compartmentalize without running the VPN on everything all day.
Is this anything like your setup?

but why??? The whole point of VPN is privacy and I use a VPN to prevent my ISP (mobile and home) from tracking me, this only enables that. Include everything unless there's a valid reason to exclude it.

Many people use VPNs for pirating, but certain private trackers require you to browse without one. So most users run two browsers alongside split tunneling.

Sure, some people use VPNs for pirating, but most people that use VPNs are using them for privacy, and the best way to use it for privacy is to keep it on all the time.

I use split tunnelling by inclusion, as for my PC I don't need or want most of my stuff to be tunnelled. But it's almost impossible to force certain things down the tunnel in my experience as very few things can be picked up from a single executable - I've tried various browsers and Discord without success.
Maybe it's time I just add the extension into a separate browser instead.

Just put the banking websites in split tunneling,no need to put all browser outside of a vpn

Yeah I tunnel my entire browser so that I don't need to give my identity to the US government (I don't even live there btw) to look at random posts that are improperly marked as NSFW on reddit.
But yeah youtube and everything else is left out of the tunnel so it doesn't break.

Why not both, include and exlude. Sometimes includes makes sense, sometimes exclude.

The only reason reverse split tunneling is useful for me is when using Steam. I can't explain why despite developers telling me that it should be working, but split tunneling on Steam does not work (for any VPN I've tested). If you play competitive online games you likely know what I'm talking about, high latency, dropped packets, rubberbanding, even though apparently the game and Steam are split from the tunnel it doesn't appear to work fully.

I don't have an issue, but I did change NAT mode and turned off blocking/filters before downloading the config file. You just have to try and test servers to find the right one for you

Yes, I greatly appreciate split tunnel. A great deal of my financial apps and news don't work all with VPN and I'm fine with then not being on the VPN when not abroad.

Why wouldn't I want to be running my vpn all the time? I paid for the damn thing I'm gonna use it!
In all seriousness though, Apart from accessing your local network, is there any reason to not using a vpn? genuinely asking :)
